Many will know that Boundary Park is the 2nd highest football ground in England and the town of Oldham gets plenty of the white stuff during the Winter so the weather may yet have a say...looks like snow on Friday then a little warmer (but wetter) come Saturday. Wear suitable clothing!! (Incidentally we visit the 3rd highest ground in March)

Another source says Oldham is 3rd, with the 2nd being the ground we visited on the first day of the season!

Hmm, You could be right Andy - the source I was using didn't even recognise FGR as a league club and the stroll to TNL in August was somewhat uphill wasn't it?

I'm struggling to purchase tickets for this one - Oldham Athletic's website doesn't seem to give an option for purchasing away tickets i.e. the Chaddy End - any ideas?

Wrap up warm! It was the coldest match I have seen in England when I made my one visit to Boundary Park. That was when they had a 1G artificial pitch. If you are too young to remember 1G at QPR, Luton and Oldham you may have a local greengrocer who puts fruit in the window on a green mat. A big piece of that over concrete and you get the idea. Sliding tackle or diving save - you only did that once.
I did not know Boundary Park isn't the highest league ground any longer - I'd like to think it has sunk. I can also say it isn't now the coldest ground in Britain I have been in. Pittodrie is right on the shore, and when the gale is off the North Sea the brass monkey's apehood is in danger.

I had the same problem on Wednesday evening.. I tried again a hour later and this time it was working fine .. I think we have 3 sections of the chancy end .. top half of the stand

From fans of other clubs I've spoken to this season, this place has a reputation for being the coldest ground in the EFL! One Tranmere fan told me their lot refer to it as "Ice Station Zebra" [Edit: apparently this nickname was coined by Joe Royle!] Good to know that when we're visiting in January during a particularly cold spell then...

As mentioned by the initiator of this thread, heavy and persistent rain is forecast to be the main feature of tomorrow's weather in Oldham. That will make it feel colder than the expected maximum of 7°C. It will not be pleasant!

Allegedly Boundary Park references the ground's position just inside the Arctic Circle.
