Taking this as our match thread the club are hopeful that some of our covid sufferers will be available to play plus Craig comes back from suspension. Matt Gray goes up there on Saturday morning and may have a selection dilemma if as i suspect Craig goes straight into midfield and Rob may go to left back.
Forest Green dropped surprising points on Tuesday night but are without a league game on Saturday. Northampton take on Crawley at home which you would reasonably expect them to win.
Safe journey & good luck to those travelling to the Artic Circle. I think i will take the opportunity to watch this at home!

I have to admire the enterprise of the Rochdale landlord who welcomes U's fans with the note that his pub is only 5 miles from Oldham. I wonder if the governors of the Glyn Arms or the Duke's Head on Wallington Green promote their pubs to our Yorks and Lancs visitors? They are a similar distance but only one bus ride away from GGL.

If you look at our fixtures for the next couple of months, on paper, there are a lot of potentially winnable points - although as we have seen this season, most matches in this league are very competitive. Nevertheless, with a bigger pool of players to select from than we have had for a while, every reason to be optimistic that this season could even end up being better than it has been already.

A chance to go up to 2nd today if we win and Northampton don't. An exciting prospect.

True enough - but I come back to the idea that we played FGR away (top of the table) and lost in the final minute and in the same month played Oldham at home (who are bottom of the league) and the same thing happened. As the seasons progresses the teams at the foot are scrapping harder and harder for the points...as Matt says, no gimmes!!

Culled from the Latics news. " Nield last officiated a Latics game in August 2021 as we were defeated by Newport County on the opening day of the season at Boundary Park. On that day, he handed out five yellow cards and zero red cards.
He's taken charge of 20 games, so far, this campaign, handing out a total of 87 yellow cards and two red cards." ++++++++
Sorry to say, but an average 4 yellow cards per match is a shocking record. IMO evidence of a lack of man-management skills.

From Oldham's Twitter account.. ℹ️ The match referee has now indicated there will be a formal pitch inspection at 1:10pm due to the recent inclement weather conditions.
A further update will follow.

That's a shame (not least for those that have travelled up there). We'll more than likely lose our third place spot to Tranmere now.

Not ideal. A lot of football to squeeze in for us! Reckon it will be the only pro game off today.

Very frustrating. Really feel for all those who have made the journey north.
