If anyone has Sky Sports News, they are showing the goals as they go in, during their midweek soccer special.

Anyone know why David A wasnt in the match day squad? Panicking here, that he might be on his way elsewhere, with it being the transfer window?

Big shout out to Will Randall - best I’ve seen him play for the U’s, at the centre of much of the play in the final third of the pitch and scoring the late winner. Well done Will!

Richie Bennett played very well after coming on; he unsettled the Col U defence and made the second equaliser. I wasn’t surprised to see that deserved injury time winner - this team never gives up, and excellently finished by Will Randall.
Saturday could be a cracker - biggest gate this season, so far?

According to the Colchester website Sutton have decided not to live stream the game. Audio only. There’s also no button on iFollow to live stream. Well that will be lost revenue to the club then. Apparently not. I understand that if you book the game through Colchester’s site which their fans would do then they get 100% of the revenue.

Whatever Will Randal did to set up his shot was done behind the floodlight pylon, so I'm deffo looking forward to the highlights.

Another fantastic win, I kind of expect injury time goals now as I know the lads just never give up until the very end. Fantastic goal from Will, but a shout out for Richie and Enzio for that second goal, and I thought it was Enzio's best performance in a U's shirt.. Its not luck scoring late goals its about believing you will score and the oppos fearing you will

Another enthralling, incident-packed match in which we twice came from behind and scored a stoppage time goal; Saturday's late strike earned us a point, tonight's brought us three - and hauls us back up to 3rd in the table. 🙂
Colchester were a better side than the one we beat at their place in October, and started this match the stronger. But after our second equaliser I thought we were mostly in control. Enzio did superbly to dig out a fine cross under pressure, Richie Bennett, who'd just come on, nodding back for Tanto to score his second of the game (and I believe those were his first goals at GGL this season). Richie also set up Will Randall for the winner, drilled with precision just inside the post.
Our mood at the final whistle was very different from that after the visitors took the lead for a second time, a penalty awarded apparently for handball as the ball came back off a post.
Our three goals tonight take us to 41 in the league this season and mean we're now the division's third-highest scorers (behind Forest Green and Newport).
It's 3rd v 4th on Saturday. 😛

Couldn't make the match due to working late but I am SO looking forward to Saturday!
Really hope that Matt and the team know quite how much excitiment and pleasure that they're bringing to us (in what is not the easiest of times).

I've seen it suggested on this board recently that Will isn't really a left winger as he tends to cut inside on his right foot - but that didn't work out too badly for him tonight. It has also been suggested that Tanto isn't quite the player that he was last season - but good to see him deliver tonight with a couple of real striker's goals. Like a number of others, I prefer to see Tanto playing down the middle rather than wide on the left (although I'm equally happy to see Donovan playing there). Matt said in his post-match interview that Jason has been pressing Richie to play more 'between the sticks' - and it looks like he is following that advice to very good effect. Defensively we don't look quite as solid as we did earlier in the season. Would be good (for my heart at least) if we didn't have to rely on scoring a third goal post the 90 minute mark every game in order to secure points. Being a 'glass half empty' kind of person, I'd say that we're probably only a couple of wins or so away from securing a place in the EFL for next season. Joking aside, that is a fantastic achievement for a 'Surrey pub team' in mid-January.

Has been said a lot that there isn’t much of a gap between top and bottom in this league. And to an extent that is right but there looked a fair one last night. Thought Colchester were very much 2nd best even though it took until stoppage time for the scoreline to reflect it. We were really good first half and again came on strong in the last third of the game. Bennett played a brilliant cameo and really linked things together well, everything he did came off just about. Randall had a great game and rounded it off in style, huge moment to claim an extra 2 points. Fantastic win and we’re in good shape. We might well push up towards 4,000 Sat.

Also word about Tanto. What an attitude he has. Scores looks to race back and find a winner. Scores again, races back with ball to hunt a winner. Gets substituted, whilst on a hattrick, and runs quickly off the field so as not to waste a single moment for the team. Love it.
