How many Sutton fans were there last night? Didn’t pick it up on any announcements?

Good going on a miserable February evening.

I've not seen Matt Grey so angry as I did tonight. I need to see a reply of it but I thought it was a clear pen shout for a trip on David before they broke away and scored whilst most of our players (including most of our defence) were still protesting. Dean had no choice but to go one on one as he was totally exposed and to be fair that was a quality finish from their guy at that angle. Whilst Dean was otherwise excellent to suggest his part in the goal was anything but a total howler is ridiculous. The ball was wide and way out from goal, we had defenders that would have got back in. It was a shame timing wise as you’d hope we would have come out a bit different 2nd half but the 2nd goal straight away made it very difficult to get back into it. Certainly not blaming Dean for defeat and he made a couple of good saves but I’m sure he’ll be first to hold his hands up on the 2nd goal. I thought if there was a trip on Ajiboye it was just outside the area. Another example of a referee who couldn’t wait to give them a decision for a penalty on barely any contact, we’re certainly not getting any help from the ref at the moment.

First of all.Well done to the 144 who went down to Bristol last night. We lost 0-2. But it could have been possibly 0-4 or 0-5. Had ot not been for Deano.Great penalty save.i won't comment on their second goal. Yes possibly the worst overall team performance this season. I agree that we were missing players especially in the midfield. As been said Cobi was match rusty. It was good to see Harry back on the pitch. Apart from two or three attempts I don't think we were going to score. As said in previous posts and threads Donovan is not a target man and at times Omar played back between midfield and the front. I could see why Matt was livid. I thought that it was a penalty for the trip on David. Fair play to Bristol they out played us well.some of their passing was very good. I don't know if any one saw their goalie tell the ball boy in the second half not to get the ball.( time wasting ) I hope we don't see another poor performance on Saturday up at Hartlepool. Hopefully some of the players will be back from injury.

Further post. I have just seen Matt's post match interview. We now know why we had a depleted squad out last night. Hope all get over their injuries and illnesses soon.

If we can stay in the play off places with a depleted squad we could well have a full compliment in the latter stages of the season when a good run of form could see us over the line.
Hartlepool is a tough place to go so expectation is not high but we really need to put Scunthorpe to the sword in our next home game.

Putting Scunthorpe to the sword ( earlier post ) I cannot see happening. Over the past three home games and last night we have not been putting the ball in the net enough times. OK we got draws where we should / could have won. I hope I am proven wrong. Yes it has / is a great season for the club and long may it continue. Hopefully a Wembley visit and playoffs!!

Suggest you watch the footage, the guy would have ended up in the right channel with Goodliffe alongside. If you seriously maintain that Deano made the correct decision to be out there and aren’t on the wind up then I’m truly astonished!

Based on Matt's post-match interview, it appears that we only had 12 'match-fit' players available for last night's game including Stuart Nelson and Dundo - with Rob and Louis both out with covid. Don't know whether we tried to get the game postponed (again) but Spurs v Arsenal was recently postponed when it appears that Arsenal were much better placed to field a competitive matchday squad than we were last night.

While our goalkeeper is at the centre of comment, I will add my two pennies worth… Dean is a great shot-stopper, but not a commander of his area. His judgement is, at times, hot headed. His distribution is more than adequate. One thing that has perplexed me about the last three regular keepers (Worner, Butler and Dean) is that they are (were) all on the short side for that position. None have been commanding figures imo. Being tall doesn’t necessarily make a great keeper, but it certainly helps.

All goalkeepers have their ups and downs. There are games where Dean has been the main factor in us winning (Stevenage in the Pizza Cup, Woking away last season) and other games in which he has made mistakes. Unfortunately, when a goalkeeper makes a mistake, as he is the last line of defence, this tends to prove more costly than when outfield players make a mistake. In the last decade or so, for consistency, Nick Tsanev and Jason Brown take some beating in my humble opinion.

If you want to ignore that Wyatt and Enzio were nowhere in sight, Rowe was nowhere near the pace, how their player out ran Goodliffe and how it was a quality finish by them to pin this on Bouzanis as being a "total howler", possibly just to attempt to score points off me (which to any observer is something you've made a habit of) then feel free to. I'm sure you feel a lot better for that.

If he didn’t make the odd mistake he’d be playing higher up, and not for us.
