So, after the excitement of Tuesday and planning a trip to Wembley we now have a run of tough away fixtures against the 3 teams who’ve beaten us at GGL in the league this season.
Any news on injuries heading into the Walsall match?

For those that haven’t been to Walsall before, there’s decent parking on the road into the ground from the M6 junction, and there is a good supporters bar where away fans are welcome (from memory, haven’t been for a few years). The ground is immediately next to the M6 just past the RAC control tower and is very close to where the M5 joins the M6, so the last stretch of motorway before you turn off for the ground can get very snarled up.
The ground is very similar to Scunthorpe but better and tidier, apart from the home end which towers above the rest of the ground.

Walsall is a good day out, especially if you leave with 3 points.

First game for me since Oldham. How things have progressed since then...
Anyway, can't wait. Hopefully the roll continues. It's an unashamedly Brit-coming-home weekend for me. Straight into Brum from the airport for a pie and a pint, the 14:10 from New Street to Bescot, game, train back to town (options around the stadium look pretty limited), a couple of pints at the Rock and Roll Brewhouse Bar, a curry, then a glamourous night at the Ibis. Slap-up full English on Sunday morning and then to the airport again, a couple of pounds heavier and, hopefully, a trio of points better off.

Off the line match preview….. Walsall vs Sutton United Preview: Sutton United will be looking to cap another fine week with all three points to bolster their promotion cause, with The Amber and Chocolates playing Walsall.Walsall have recovered from their 5-0 drubbing against Swindon with a victory before back-to-back draws. Last weekend, they drew 1-1 with Barrow without really looking strong. Saying that, they could have won had George Miller got his shooting boots on. Michael Flynn has targeted his fringe players to stay on their toes having not really changed his team massively since taking over. Flynn did though give Lee Tomlin his first start since arriving last month. The midfielder is box office and was lucky not to be sent-off after kicking out at Barrow midfielder Ollie Banks. Walsall seem to be fairly clear of the relegation battle now, but Flynn will be determined to build a platform they can take into next season. Sutton have had a great week, following up a 3-0 victory at home to Rochdale last weekend with a victory over League One’s 2nd-placed side Wigan on penalties in midweek to see them through to the final of the Papa John’s Trophy. The Amber and Chocolates beat the League One highflyers on penalties having drawn 1-1 in normal time. Donavan Wilson returned in midweek having missed the win over Rochdale, while Harry Beautyman has returned to the side for the majority of the last two, with Kenny Davis going off injured after just 10 minutes last week, hence that has given Matt Gray a timely boost. Prediction: Walsall 0-2 Sutton United Sutton will run out victorious here with a 2-0 victory. Walsall won’t be able to handle the pace of the wingers while won’t be offered much going forward. One to Watch: Enzio Boldewijn – Sutton winger Boldewijn scored his first two goals last weekend since joining Sutton last summer. He’s been brilliant without scoring so for him to add goals to his game will help their promotion push massively. offtheline599656488.wordpress.com/2022/03/11/sky-bet-league-two-36-weekend-preview/

One of those weekends when there are only two clashes between teams in the top half. Probably would want Tranmere to beat Mansfield to reduce the impact of their 3 games in hand on us. We could, depending on results, go second or drop to 8 th . realistically with only one defeat in 18 in all competitions and with the physical and mental stress of Tuesday I think it likely we will come unstuck against Walsall and drop out of the playoffs for the first time in ages. They must be knackered- only 29% of possession! We really need Smith and Olaofe back but unlikely they will even be on the bench. Four out of the next 5 are away before the Pizza Cup Final. March looks incredibly tough from here on in. Coincidentally the next 3 aways are against the only sides to win at GGL Walsall Swindon and Oldham. If we are still in the playoffs by the end of March I will genuinely think that we are in with a chance .

No Louis in the matchday squad today - joining Ali, Tanto, Kenny and Jon on the injured/unavailable list. Would be good to have an update on when some of these might be available again.

Now Deano injured in the warm up. Squad starting to look a bit thin.

Donovan and Harry both substituted in the first half with injuries. Suggest that anyone going to Swindon on Tuesday night to watch the game takes their boots with them.

Is it just me? Will clubs please stop calling us the Amber & Chocolates as if that is our nickname! No. It's chocolate and amber. I know this is a properly daft thing to argue about, but it's always amber and chocolate on all the "official" things like the back of the programme or whatever. I've never said "chocolate and amber" myself. But you can say it whichever way you prefer! (Anything to avoid talking about the actual match!)
