Pedantic I know but it’s Oldham v Sutton!
Hoping we can serve up some revenge on this lot for their smash and grab job on us back in August!

We're in the thick of a brutal run of fixtures, with about a third of our squad missing through injury, but there's no doubt that we're in a better place than Oldham. Their revival following the reappointment of John Sheridan as manager has fizzled out, as they've lost their last four games, haven't won in six, and have slipped back to second-bottom.
Yesterday they lost 2-0 at home to Exeter in what seems to have been a scrappy encounter. Tuesday's game may well be similar, a match in which the team most willing to graft and muck in earns the reward. Their confidence will have taken another hit, and that may be something that we can exploit.
Also playing on Tuesday are Port Vale and Mansfield, respectively just above and below us in the table, and so we may need something from this game to stay in reach of a play-off place. Port Vale away next Saturday looks a far more daunting fixture, and after that (thanks to our date at Wembley!) it's two weeks before we play another league game.

I’ll be there, hoping to make it past the Thirwell viaduct this time! Only disappointment is that my 6 year old won’t be able to come with me this time, so he’ll have to wait for Port Vale on Saturday for his next away day!

My plans for travelling home will eventually get me back but not until I have to get up the following morning, which isn't ideal as I'm already seriously sleep deprived! If anyone heading back to Sutton or indeed anywhere in the general London area happens to have a spare seat in their car and would be kind enough to let me sit in it, please can you drop me a private message?

Having carried out some 'research' during the initial trip to Oldham in January, I suppose I'd better recommend a pub in town. I'm actually going one better and recommending two very close to each other.
First up is the Fox & Pine (18 Greaves St OL1 1AD), a stylish new bar with an impressive choice of ales on handpump, foreign beers, and ciders.
A Bouzanis goal-kick away is the traditional Ashton Arms (28 Clegg St OL1 1PL), also with a great beer choice, and with the bonus of home-cooked food. A sign on the bar proclaims 'cash only'!
The pubs are only a few minutes' walk from Oldham Central tram stop and Southgate Street car park. Boundary Park is about 2.5 kilometres away.

Although we're not in fantastic form at the moment, we're still better than Oldham in the table, who have not won in 6. Obviously at home they are better, but they've still lost to fellow strugglers Scunthorpe and Carlisle in recent weeks. Our away form of course isn't much better, only winning 2 of the last 10 (Tranmere and Carlisle) with the rest being a mixture of good performances and not getting the reward (Bradford, Newport Hartlepool) to more tepid performances (Walsall, Leyton Orient, Bristol Rovers).
Port Vale play Exter tonight and Mansfield travel to Rochdale, and a win tonight will take us back into the play off positions, regardless of the PV result (if they win they will go 6th)
FWP (which has us now predicted finishing 11th) predicts a 1-1 draw.
And get well soon Kev!

I think a lot depends upon which players we get back from injury tonight because we can't mount a play off challenge without key players. Also we need players match fit for the Pizza cup. Won't travel tonight as up to Port Vale at the weekend and hopefully the Oldham match will be streamed.
Just read that Harry could be back in the squad which is good news as someone mentioned to me that he could be out for the final !

I think we will need 75 points to make the play offs this season . This is 17 points from 9 games. Under 2 a game which is still quite manageable.
