Our first visit to the Eco-Power stadium formerly known as the Keepmoat. I have no real idea what to expect from the opposition but it looks like a really nice ground we are going to. Safe travel to all those going up there and let's hope we can get the season underway with 3 away points!

All the best to everyone travelling. AFCW, Woking and Sutton all in Yorkshire on the same day, must be a first!
As ever anything we get from an away game is good. Goodliffe a big miss, but an opportunity for Coby to impress.

Just a quick update for those travelling to today's match, there was a trespasser on the line between Morpeth and Newcastle which has been cleared but seems to have had a knock-on effect in terms of delays to the east coast trains running between Edinburgh and King's Cross in both directions. Fingers crossed that everyone travelling can make kickoff in time...

For those not listening, or getting "updates" U's have taken the lead in the 16th minute through Donovan Wilson
The only thing I'd like to point out regarding our commentary team, is that Cameron said Doncaster were playing in Red & White stripes.....Unless they've changed their kit this season, they actually play in Red and White Hoops !

Lost 3 points in the space of 2 minutes. Matt will not be happy.
Unfortunately with the size of squad we have, two injuries leaves few options on the bench.
A better start than last season though.

We paid for not getting the second goal and also not seeing the game out in extra time. I mean two goals In five minutes Matt won’t be happy. Plus is for us Bugiel had a good first half never stoped working and also Wilson scored a great goal. Coby did well. So on too the next match at M.K. Dons. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Im sure I wont have been the only one that remarked at half-time that I hope we dont regret not taking all those chances we created during the frst 45 minutes Notwithstanding some good performances and well done to Josh on the wing who I thought had an excellent debut and was busy down our left flank, particularly first half. Never nice to lose to the last kick of the game but you get those days every season; might as well get it out the way early!!

Very disappointing to see it slip away in those last 4 mins of added time, sometimes you can see these things coming, you just get that feeling.
A decent performance spoilt by inability to get a second when on top, and a brain freeze at the end. We need another striker, no ifs not buts. The fact we couldn't get the second lead to nerves in that added time, and despite being the better team for the majority of the match we came away with nothing. Only a week ago I was gloating at how well the lionesses saw out that last 5-6 mins in their match.

I wasn't at the match today but disappointed to hear we didn't manage to close the game down, something we struggled with in the not-too-distant past that I thought/hoped we'd overcome.

OS has got it in one. The game was over at half time had the umpteen chances had been taken. How many times has that happened. To score and not follow up with one or two more and yet drop points to teams scoring late equalisers or winning. Yes we do need another striker (poacher ) I have been saying that from the last season. If Omar is badly injured and it looked that way when he went off what is Matts tactics going to be as his "target man " Is out.As stated in an earlier thread Donno is not an out and out target man. Must admit there was some good indevers and commitment from the team.

I'm afraid that this was close to a repeat of Oldham at home last August. We were 1-0 up (and arguably should have been further ahead!), and still in control going into stoppage time, and contrived to lose 2-1. I thought we'd sorted out game management by last Christmas. It seems not!
I'm willing to write this off as a freak result, but need to see supporting evidence during the next few weeks. Otherwise, sorry, I can't see anything other than a season of struggle.

I’d say let’s take the positives. We’ve gone away to what has been a League One side and everyone is gutted we haven’t got the win we should have. If we remember where we have come from and keep a touch of realism (that survival this season is the most important thing) then it bodes well.
More often than not we’d put away enough chances to win the game. And the next time we play like that (from what I hear - not at the game) we’ll win.
Yes we probably need to be a touch more clinical to carry on improving but remember we were 1 point from the first 4 games last season.
I say all the above but am still a little disappointed as these 2 fixtures were good chances to get a flyer and I think the first 2 months look really tough on paper.
IS4 - if Omar is injured he plays Thomas - simple. Same as with Bennett last season.

From what i have seen so far Thomas is a National League player at best but i look forward to being wrong with that observation.
