Too lazy to work this out myself but what is Tope’s conversion rate in the league? Eg goals per minutes played? BBC Sport has Tope at 20 minutes per goal

Does anyone know why those in the Tardis area were trapped and unable to leave the ground until 10 past 5? If this is going to be a regular feature going forward then I won't be standing there again. Shame because it was a great view. Blame Tope! He was signing autographs and taking selfies with the young fans for several minutes after the players had left the field. Are they not opening the gates out to the car park? When we mentioned being ‘locked in’ after a pre season friendly that was the solution put forward for future matches.

Shame because it was a great view. It might be worthwhile contacting Clare Loughlin, Supporters Liasion Officer about this. I did so about something completely different a few weeks and received a reply from AB.

After 6 games this season W2 D2 L2 pts 8 F 6 A 6 gd 0 After 6 games last season W2 D2 L2 pts 8 F 5 A 5 gd 0 There's literally nothing in it aside from scoring one less goal and conceding one less goal. Some more stats: All the teams we've played so far are in the top two-thirds of the table, with Barrow & Doncaster in the autos and Crewe in a play-off place.

When we mentioned being ‘locked in’ after a pre season friendly that was the solution put forward for future matches. It is a condition of our stadium operating licence that spectators are not allowed in the "red zone" which includes the area in the car park dedicated to players, match officials, away directors etc. Spectators aren't allowed near the match officials building and player changing rooms either. This makes it difficult to allow exit from the stadium into any area beyond the segregation barrier in the car park past the MBA building, except in an emergency. We are looking at ways in which we can speed up the flow of pedestrian traffic across the tunnel entrance, and yesterday we managed to get many through before the Sutton players left the pitch. It will be difficult to do so though when the opposition and match officials haven't gone down the tunnel though.

We are but we are also missing a trick. For Mansfield corners and free-kicks into our goal area we brought every Sutton player back to defend. Mansfield's tallest and fastest defender Hewitt #4, because he was not needed to cover a counter-attack went forward to join their players in our area and drew Coby to mark him. Their goal was scored by the 12, who was not well marked. You think a side’s going to not send their tallest player forwards for a set piece because we leave a player up?! Nonsense. If you read what I wrote carefully! You would see "tallest and fastest defender." Because he was the fastest he would have been required to cover Wilson - and in fact Hewitt was the last to go forward so obviously not a routine part of Mansfield's corner pack.

Ok it read as if it was their tallest defender and therefore one of their main set piece threats. I tend to agree with you that I prefer to keep a man up. You definitely don’t have to keep your fastest defender back!

I’m not going to argue with the manager! There’ll be a good reason!

Badly need? Badly?
Two of our attacking players just put 2 goals past a very well drilled Mansfield defence and competent looking keeper. And, as you say, on the balance of play we deserved the win. Shall we try to look at the balance of the team as a whole, perhaps? It may be more instructive. Yes badly, as if Thomas and Wilson had played all day i doubt very much that either would have scored. Balance of team is fine but you need your front two to find the net and they never looked like it. OK, let's keep an eye on this and maybe come back to it after 5 or 6 more games. See how our scoring rate is working out, see what the various players are contributing. And then, I think, we can evaluate your 'badly'.

Let's hope that whatever business Matt needs to do before the transfer window closes can be completed by Tuesday (given that we have a game against Chelsea on Wednesday).

The results say that we're slightly less successful up front this season, and slightly better in defence. Yet some have been saying that we're in for a "long season" without Goodliffe and Bouzanis? It literally makes no sense!

Agreed. Early days so comparisons pretty meaningless at this stage. But certainly we’re looking ok with or without additions. If we can get in another decent forward then obviously that’s great.

I'm surprised you don't know that Andy Seriously though Wilson was only back up to Tanto and Thomas didn't set the world on fire at Wrexham. One goal in 7 games between them at this level speaks volumes. Ok that's only my opinion and football is a game of opinions and only time will tell.

One goal in 7 games between them at this level speaks volumes. Ok that's only my opinion and football is a game of opinions and only time will tell. Again does it? Saying Wilson was only a back up to Tanto does him a disservice, especially with the almost totally predictable way Matt does his attacking substitutions almost every match. And both those players made around the same percentages of appearances from the bench (35-40%). In all honesty, there isn't a conclusion you can make about any player 6 league games in. Virtually any attacker, regardless of level will go through patches of form. The very few that show any sort of consistency are the ones valued in the 50m+ category. There are many on here who still pine for Ajiboye, but if you watched him between Feb and March last season only, would you make a judgement on that? On current PPG, if we match this for the rest of the season, we'd end up on 61 points. Which would translate as us finishing 12th. I'd take that any day of the week.
