It's obvious already we will not struggle this season, as evidenced by the gulf in class yesterday. I think squad depth will cost us play offs though. Josh and will have to be two of the best wingers in the league but they can't play every game and their replacements are not on the same level. Same with Milsom. For whatever reason we don't seem to have a second choice left back available and Milsom is going to miss games. Didn't matter today, although our poor period conincded with his substitution, and could say the same about Tuesday's last 15. I will say this too. Not a fan of triple substitutions. Well the reason re. Milsom is pretty apparent - Hart hasn’t been fit yet. Hopefully he will be soon. Is it? You're probably right, but there might be more behind the scenes. We don't know what Matt sees in training, or the attitude of players. What else could explain young kouassi getting on ahead of Thomas, who for my money provides a stronger option alongside Kendall. Thomas will win far more headers and is an outright target man, but perhaps his attitude isn't right in training or during matches.

Haven’t we quite a record in recent years of seeing oppo managers sacked after playing us?

Hartlepool had a bad transfer window when they lost some of their best players and brought in inadequate replacements.

Hartlepool had a bad transfer window when they lost some of their best players and brought in inadequate replacements. I heard they bought in 17 players?! And we know only too well how little quality was available for sides with small budgets.

When Donovan went through one on one against the Hartlepool keeper, he should have squared the ball to Easty on his left - who would have had an open goal. .....and smashed it over the bar! (Better keep my head down for a while!)

(Better keep my head down for a while!) First half he smashed it over the bar. Second half he smashed 3 into the keeper. Doesn't seem to be going his way in the Football League as i would have put money on him finishing those in the National league.

Haven’t we quite a record in recent years of seeing oppo managers sacked after playing us? From memory, I think you are right, and it does not have to be after a hiding. Perhaps directors baulk at losing to "the pub team from Surrey".

I recall 2 of those 3 being stopped by the keepers trailing foot.

Wilson needs to be taking those chances, although I’m sure his assist for Randall’s goal will make him feel a bit better. He contributed. I think Wilson was my man of the match! If it wasn’t for their MOTM he could have scored two or three. He actually played well and has 2 assists to his name from the last 2 matches, but failing to score from any of his chances is not really acceptable from your main striker. Trouble is I would still look to get him on the pitch because he does create ?

I'm guessing that the choice of ends now is so that the away team don't attack their own supporters end in the second half whereas our supporters are on 3 sides.

Can I just say I thought the referee was as good as we have had for ages.

Put it another way your main striker is on the pitch to score goals, if he doesn't do that you need one that does. It does not mean Wilson is not a good player only that he should not be playing in the main striker role. I want to word it in a way that doesn't rubbish the player as that would not be fair or correct.
