I am convinced if we can get some service to Kouassi he will score for us.
As for Coby, I would put him straight back in.

Obviously we're without Goodliffe, Barden, Smith, Wilson (for the last match of his ban) and possibly Harry. Hopefully Randall is back in contention but we're going to be relying pretty much on the same set of players who had been comprehensively beaten on Tuesday, and performed so poorly last Saturday. It will be interesting to see how Coby gets on - the trauma of what happened on Tues night will be a difficult thing to overcome. Like being involved in a car crash; do you get straight behind the wheel again or do you wait? Either way, whether he's on or off the pitch tomorrow, I give Coby my full and unconditional support. I wasn't there and I don't watch the interviews. What's this about Coby?

He must really feel terrible about it. I couldn't agree more with garethl about showing loyalty and patience. That's what being a supporter is all about. Stick with it through the tough times and we'll be rewarded with more good ones 😊

No point having a go at the team, just get behind the team and Matt will sort it out. We just need too stick to gather and get through this. Kizzi man off the mach for me..⚽️⚽️⚽️

Anything and everything conspired against Sutton this afternoon. The injury situation is pretty critical now, with the LJ hamstring, Aaron Pierre and then (yet again) Randall going off. The squad is mightily stretched, no doubt about it, and confidence has taken a massive hit, but……..
There’s little or no creativity, no cutting edge, no goal threat, no calmness on the rare half chances they do get, and there are two or three that were on the pitch at the end that, frankly, are just not league 2 standard.
Good luck Matt Gray. You’re going to need it.

I was hoping for something more from the team today. For JON. Terrier with his second paragraph totally sums it up well. Not only today, but the passed number of games. Yes I quite agree we need / must keep behind the team. But it is coming quite Clear that the system we play is not working. The injury list is getting worse and this is having a bearing on the team lime up. Hoping that some of the minor injuries can be sorted out quickly. Next Saturday is going to be a tough possibility a rough game as local Derbys can be.

I thought we were the better team. They had only two chances which they scored. We also had two chances but couldn't hit the target. It's these fine lines which are the difference between winning and losing.Last season we had players that could turn a game an add in the latest injury crisis and we may have to limp through until the January transfer window. Let's hope for a kind draw in the FA CUP.

I thought the match was of poor quality today with lengthy episodes of midfield head tennis. The tactic of pumping the ball forward to Kendall/Wilson doesn't seem to be working though we did, at least, try to play on the deck more in the second half. However, we posed little threat and Tranmere comfortably deserved their victory.
The one positive for me was Adam Lovatt who I'd seen little of before but I thought he had a quietly impressive game.

The 2nd goal killed the game. We played pretty well first half generally, Tranmere going in 2 up in no way reflected the game. But the chances we gave away - pen and 1v1 almost guaranteed goals at this level. We can’t afford to give cheap goals away when we are struggling to score the other end. Is that 4 clean sheets in a row for Tranmere, not just us that struggles to score against them and also see Stevenage again today - a home win and shut out vs Swindon.
Positives - Lovatt looked good, Wilson is back next week.
I’d say it’s doubtful John and Randall will be fit though. Randall probably needs an extended break to make sure he’s properly fit.

5 defeats in a row doesn't look good. I really don't know what the problem is. Omar and Charlie really battled well. So did Tope when he came on.
Are we just not getting past packed well organised defences and also there were at least 3 refereeing decisions that went against us and I'm not talking about the penalty. Why can't officials be consistent. A foul is a foul wherever it happens on the pitch.
Maybe we need to be more flexible. Are we becoming too predictable? 4-4-2 doesn't seem to be working. I know we are stretched defensively but maybe 3 at the back with wing backs could work.

In all honesty the reason we lost today was circumstances. You lose your best CB within 5 mins. You then lose his replacement 8 min later. And then you lose one of the most effective outfield players in the 2nd half.
Look at the positives today. Lovatt certainly was that and actually I thought Thomas looked pretty good when he came on too. There wasn't a player anyone could single out as "poor" today. And with such disruption at the back, I'm not surprised we conceded 2.
I am getting more concern about up front though. Since Wilson got sent off (seen by some as being "the weak link" up front), we've managed 2 shots on target in 3 games. More accurately that was in 1 game, and we've not managed one in 180 mins of football.
It would be very foolish to suggest that this is only the fault of the players up top. If they're not getting the service, they can't have a crack. So it's a combination of things from where I'm looking. Whilst we've been unlucky over the last couple of games with freak events on the pitch, we do need to try something so it stops being habitual. It doesn't have to be as drastic as a change of tactics or individuals, but there are some things people could be doing better e.g there are at least 2 players out there whose passing has been woeful in recent weeks. Work on that for example. Identify the myriad of small issues to fix the big, because this isn't an easy, simple fix.
MoM. Copy Rowe. Even if a player had scored 6 today, it still would be Coby. To come straight back on after Tuesday, then have 3 CB partners within 15 mins and not miss a beat takes something pretty special.

I know we are stretched defensively but maybe 3 at the back with wing backs could work. Its down to the quality you have on the pitch and the system you play. I think you can answer the question, by asking do we have the quality available on the pitch to fit the current system? If not can we change the style of play to adapt? I generally think that this where you use your 'director of football' alongside the manager to come up with another plan to ultimately get points. IMO : I want to see Wilson play slightly withdrawn and get Kouassi up there with him, I am convinced Donovan can create for Kylian?

We are stretched in defence and midfield but have a surplus of forwards unfortunately none of them look like scoring. No shots on target today.
