As the 4th qualifying takes place this upcoming weekend, and the draw where we come in just after, thought I'd start the conversation.
Aside from the National League sides that come in this weekend, and the L1/L2 coming in with us, there are still a number of former opponents still in the draw including Kidderminster, Fylde, Chester, Hereford, Hampton and Richmond, Eastbourne, Ebbsfleet, Weymouth, Hornchurch, Oxford, Havant and Waterlooville, Chelmsford, Weston, Folkestone and Farnborough.
There's one level 9 team left, Anstey Nomads of the United Counties league (the equivalent of the Combined Counties league). They've got the TV game for the 4th qualifying round, albeit they are home to Cheserfield, currently 4th in the National League.
Obviously we don't have any league fixtures on the dates of the 1st or 2nd round, but for the subsequent rounds we have the following
3rd Round - Tranmere (a) 4th Round - Harrogate (a) 5th Round - N/A (midweek fixtures) 6th Round - Grimsby (h) SF - Colchester (a)

Colchester away? I think you should change your signature to 'vastly overoptimistic, supercilious and condescending at GGL since 1987'.

Ha ha, just being a completist rather than any hope of optimism. The way our luck is going the only way we're going to have even the first of those fixtures postponed is if Tranmere make the 3rd round!

Just like a home draw for once.

Congleton Town lost to AFC Fylde in the previous round. Do you mean Coalville Town?

Yes. It's a football team, the manager whose name slips my mind.

Not since 1998 when they merged with Waterlooville. (Yes I did know what you meant, but so did you know what I meant.)
My questioning tone was really about why you'd mentioned them in particular. That would be a terrible draw. I don't see why people still seem so fixated on them!

And, of course, Havant & W have to win a 4th qualifying round match before they can enter the 1st round with us. They're home to Weymouth on Saturday.

Yes surely our main objective as a club would be to get two winnable ties in Round 1 & Round 2 then get a big money spinner in Round 3.

Just like a home draw for once. (Havant waiting in the wings) Last time we were at home in the FA Cup, we lost to Bromley. The time before we drew with Billericay leading to a humiliating away defeat. Excluding replays, in Matt's time as manager we've been drawn at home twice and away twice.

Sorry for not writing the whole name and my response was a bit sarcastic but why would it be a terrible draw? It's not fixation. It would be a great reunion.

I get you. I just don't think it would be a good draw - I'd be too nervous about being on the wrong side of an upset!
