And where have I suggested that Kylian doesn't win aerial challenges? Problem is, except in emergencies, Matt G is unlikely to play all three in the same team so you can go on and on and bloody on about who should be in the team and who should not but you ain't the manager.
Kylian is a great prospect and improving all the time but when the majority of the squad is available,I don't see Matt starting him, yet.

I think the Twitter feed is exactly how it should be - accurate match information. If people want to give an opinion etc, then add it to the relevant thread on this forum. I just want to see a bit more passion from the official club feed. Doesn't have to cross lines to do so.

I just bloody did discuss it.
You just bang on with the same old same old week in week out. I would have thought if Matt agreed with you, Kylian would started yesterday and Omar would have been in midfield.
He didn't. Hence my previous post. End of discussion.

Since the next match is a cup tie there is a chance Brad House is already pencilled in for the GK jersey as he was for the PJT. A good show and he might be able to keep it until Rose returns or even after. I thought Rose began at Sutton looking nervous, punching balls which needed to be caught, however he improved considerably and now looks a good signing. I don't like criticising individual players, but with goalkeepers there is no option. Ward is a liability, the table of results says so. Lack of trust in the keeper not spilling saves or letting in soft shots quickly affects the defence. That seems to me to have happened. House has looked more confident in his PJT matches at GGL. For someone who posts on here with such knowledge about the finer points of footballing tactics, would you care to explain to us who are obviously not experts how Lewis Ward was responsible for our defeat on Saturday, or how we didn't win on Tuesday, or how he prevented us having a bigger victory at Plough Lane? Or how he was responsible to conceding last minutes goals at Doncaster and Swindon? Or maybe even responsible for the woeful team performances at Crewe and Gillingham?

As mentioned on a previous thread. 10 clubs by the age of 25 must suggest something.

As mentioned on a previous thread. 10 clubs by the age of 25 must suggest something. 9 of which were loans whilst he was registered at one Championship club (Reading) by the time he was 22. Louis John had 9 clubs by the time he was 25. So did Donovan. So I don't think it suggests what you may think.

Its very subjective who our best goalkeeper is at present. Brad House has done very well in my opinion.

Its very subjective who our best goalkeeper is at present. Brad House has done very well in my opinion. Absolutely. Personally I think any of the 3 keepers could do a job for us, and I don't think there's much between them. But suggesting any of those 3 keepers is a "liability" without any basis on reality or judges a keeper based on the "number of teams they played for before the age of 25" doesn't reflect any logic beyond "I don't like x keeper" or "I totally love y keeper and the other 2 are rubbish". In addition, it shows the limitations of such posters who feel that one player is the reason we're not winning every game. That's never the case. In fact I read on social media, a Sutton supporter suggestion that "Omar shouldn't even be in the squad because he's only scored 2 goals this season". Whilst everyone is entitled to an opinion about the merits of any specific player, to hound one (even a keeper) misses the fundamental point that football is a team game, and whilst players will have off days, players will also have brilliant days. It literally never happens that one player carries an entire team, regardless of how many they score individually. Someone could score 30 goals in a season, but if the defence lets in 100 and the team gets relegated, then it's for nothing.

Further to the discussion of keepers. In an earlier post I said I was still out regarding Lewis. Having time to think over the subject I think I must come down on the side of Brad. Yes it would be good if he starts Saturday as been said in earlier posts.

Matt has paid money to get Lewis in and he is in direct competition with Jack Rose for the goalkeepers shirt. What i have found over the years that if a manager pays out money for a player he is normally in the team. To drop him reflects badly on the Manager's judgement in the first place. It really depends a lot on what Matt promised him when he was signed.

Or as is more the case, Matt never fundamentally changes his side. I really don't think Matt is the type of manager who stays awake at night worrying about what people think of his judgement. Think of what he does match in match out and the reason why we have Lewis. Rememeber that Rose was signed to provide competition for Bouzanis, who then departed. Brad did have a very good game against Oxford, but remember he's hardly played this season - one league appearance coming on as a sub for 7 mins and didn't have a fantastic game at Leyton Orient in the PJT. However much one likes Brad (and like I said, I have nothing against him at all), Matt rarely fundamentally changes his sides, and unless there is an injury to Ward, I can't see House playing. If Rose was fit (and from what I hear he isn't that far away), I think there may be more of a choice for Matt to make.

As with any keeper at this level, Lewis Ward has strengths and weaknesses. His height is an obvious advantage in dealing with high balls (either catching them or, when fiercely struck, tipping over). He's a pretty good shot-stopper. But he has been caught out by low shots into the corner. Also, for a big guy, he doesn't command his area as convincingly as he might.
He is the incumbent at the moment, and, so long as he stays fit and doesn't have any really bad games, I think Matt will stick with him for league matches. (I wonder though if we'll see either Brad or Jack between the sticks next Saturday.)
I also notice that Lewis shares a birthday with Sutton Utd (he was born on 5 March 1997), so he'll get the sentimentalist vote. 🙂

Omar's sending-off was very harsh, perhaps a Yellow or perhaps just a free kick, but never a red card. When I saw he was sent off on my phone feed, I was angry at him as one thinks with a 3rd min sending off it must have been something stupid he did. But seeing the highlights I felt sorry for him and angry that yet again a reff shafts us and ruins the game for all who went. Let's hope the red gets reversed into a yellow so he avoids a ban (Another player out! As for our keeper, House has done well but does not have league experience which is more competitive than the games he has been in, it would be a risk to put him as no 1. I am happy with both Ward and Rose perhaps with Ward edging it. I don't think any of our keepers have been particularly at fault for any of our defeats. Small lapses of concentration have been to blame, along with constant injuries. I think we are every bit as competitive as last year but just seem as a side to be a bit more temperamental.

If it is reversed, Omar will still be out as he is already on 4 yellow cards this season, and that would take him to the 5 and a one match ban. That's of course the club decide to appeal the decision.
