Oooo I'm starting a match thread! Really early I know but there is a message from Tranmere via Twitter
Assuming i have done that wrong, here it is........
Nicola Palios: Saturday will be our annual memorial match game. Supporters please be aware that from 2.45 until kick off there will be a short remembrance of Tranmere supporters who have passed away in 2022. We would therefore be very grateful if supporters could be in their seats for 14.45 and refrain from singing whilst the service takes place. Many thanks
And to be cheeky......I am looking for a second guest for the Tranmere match, if anyone was thinking of it please let me know (suttonpodcast@gmail.com)

Really looking forward to this one. It's probably my favourite EFL2 ground to visit (apart from the obvious one!). A fortnight ago I would have given us little chance, but now???

Looking at the form guide, it's 17th v 2nd. And I'm pleased to say we're the ones in form.
They have won 2 games in the last 6, but both of those (Donny at home and Barrow away) were against teams not in brilliant form themselves.
With what is feeling like a new squad with the players coming back either from injury or from other clubs, we've got every chance of getting something. Head to head, this is our 4th visit to Prenton Park, winning the last 2 of those by 1-0 and being unlucky to lose there in 2017. A common theme of each of those visits was how entertaining each match was, and Tranmere is one of the most welcoming places in terms of accomodation and fans.

I'll miss this game because of the rail strike, but will be following from afar.
As our squad is at last close to full strength, the Tranmere team will be somewhat depleted; centre back Dynel Simeu has been recalled by parent club Southampton, two of their other players are reportedly transfer targets of other clubs, while midfielder Paul Lewis (who scored at GGL in October) is suspended. So tomorrow might be as good a time as any to play them. I'd still expect this to be a tough match, but we go into it in confident mood.

Can’t make this one either (work).
It’s became my favourite away day over the last few seasons - always fun travelling home on the supporters coach with 3 points.

Neil Byrne, another Tranmere centre back, signed by Stockport yesterday. Also rumoured that a couple of their players may be struggling with illness.

Ward Hart Beautyman Ajiboye Fadahunsai Kouassi Neuvfille has to be the most attacking and strongest bench we've ever fielded with a full strength starting line up as things stand at present.

Good point on the road - and nearly won it at the death. Great to have Ali back amongst the goals. Just two points off the play off places. Why are our games the last ones to finish every week?

There was a longish stoppage at the end of the 1st half (just as the board went up for 3 added minutes). One of the Tranmere defenders and the keeper collided. The player was patched up and stayed on but that must have added a further 3 or 4 so it wasnt far off 4 o clock by the time the 1st half finished. 6 additional minutes at the end of the second half too.

We're now 2nd in the form table, and behind Walsall only on goal difference.
