If you have a Facebook or twitter account you have to accept you are in the public domain and the very fact you are makes you available to everyone who may wish to message you. The very reason I do not have them. When I feel strongly enough I will fire off an email to my MP.
Thankfully as I am not the individual concerned It is not my place to get involved but if I was the victim I would be contacting the most senior officials of Tranmere myself asking for an explanation.

That route can get a litte messy due to its inherently public nature. But, yes, I think you're right. Social media makes you 'available' and it's not just there for swapping compliments. As we all know. I think if I were the individual directly involved in this travesty, while I would trust to the club to represent me to best effect, I would also make my own voice heard via that method.

Whilst I don't often disagree with you, I'm going to here. Bearing in mind our supporter has been accused by the police of "commiting a crime", the last thing anyone in their right mind will want to make their own voice heard in public or act in any way that could be seen as prejudicial in a court of law or with a conviction. Whilst in no way am I suggesting our supporter is in this position, I would suggest until they are sure that any charges won't be pressed, that would be the most stupid thing one could do. And as well it won't achieve anything. The vice chairman would have already been made aware of the incident, either from Tranmere themselves, from the club, or by reading either our forum or Tranmere's forum (either directly or indirectly).

Which is good! As I fear I generally wear the mantle of the automatic-Andy-backer. This is no exact calculation but let me break it down like this. 1. I don't think this is coming to court. If it were something like an accusation of assault then I'd be completely for proper channels only. Best case scenario is that our supporter gets an apology, possibly his match ticket money refunded, and the steward in question gets a verbal reprimand from Tranmere. 2. Most of the details (with the exception of the 'word used') are right here on social media already. If this was going to get legal then this entire thread would best be pulled. 3. As I said, going onto other social media is a messy business and I admit it can backfire. But with a matter like this I do think that kicking up a public stink, to some degree, may not be amiss. Because I fear that from Tranmere's (and possibly the police's) point of view this has got bury-this-quickly written all over it. Which is less than it deserves. But I confess, when it comes to this kind of thing, I tend not to be risk averse.

I suppose to really stir it up one could always complain to the FA as they are the guardians of decency and quite rightly want to stamp out this sort of abuse, so they should be informed of the unfounded situation. And then we come to the question of slander. As there have been a number of witnesses with regards to both accusations, i.e. vaping and homophobic comments, both the plod and the steward should face some consequences.

But of course that's totally up to the person it was aimed at.

When you're in a situation where those in positions of power and authority seem determined to find you guilty (going so far as to state categorically that you have "committed a crime" without a charge being made let alone a trial) I think it is prudent to be cautious just in case.

And let’s not forget the ’thought police’, as per the Birmingham Abortion Clinic. Whatever your own personal opinions it now includes silent prayer for someone standing outside the clinic so how long will it be before one is cautioned for thinking that maybe someone is playing like a ?

Actually Andyk's post on OUR forum was seen by a concerned Tranmere fan and copied to the Tranmere forum. Andyk's subsequent post on their forum was to clarify some details.

Because if you read the thread, they'd already posted my response from here on there. Maybe you'd have preferred if that was just left to spread nonsense instead. I got a few PMs from Tranmere supporters, all in support of our supporter after my post. Is that an issue for you?

Not that your point is relevant to conversation, she wasn't. www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1713603/anti-abortion-arrest-silently-praying-twitter-fact-check-Row-false-informationIt's probably best to check things before making claims that are unfounded. And not just to believe everything you'd like to believe on social media because your views line up with theirs.
