Tuesday night sees us compete in the 2nd round of this seasons Surrey Senior Cup against Walton & Hersham (tries to think when we last played them 🤔 - FA Cup during early Dos years..?!)
This match presents a good opportunity to give some members of the squad minutes in the legs namely Pierre, Fadahunsi, Kouassi, maybe Gambin and Thomas unless they’ve secured moves away from the club. I can’t see us risking new signing Angol.
With holders Dorking going out in the last round, it would be great to see us get to the final given it’s 20 years now since we last lifted this trophy.

I would be surprised should Lee Angol be risked as he recovers from an ankle knock he sustained at Bradford, he might as well be cup tied should he have played in the Yorkshire county cup. Amongst the other names mentioned I hope to see Craig Dundas, Sam Hart, and potentially Harry Beautyman getting good minutes to hone their match fitness and sharpness. Other than Rose who is unfit Matt might think any of our remaining keepers would benefit from some match practice, again checking none are cup tied. Outsider bets subject to fitness and not being cup tied could be Tobi Ogundega and Matt Ridley.

Lee Angol probably won't be risked. However, if he has played in the YCC or whatever they play in, he would not be cup tied as that rule was dropped years ago.

Thanks Mark I was not sure on the cup tie rule, why I said might.

Postponed .
This evening's scheduled Surrey Senior Cup tie at home to Walton & Hersham has been postponed due to a frozen pitch. A rearranged date will be announced when known.

Doesn't look like we used the covers!

I presume they would have put them if it was a league match.

I am no expert on pitch maintenance but considering the weekend programme was postponed because of water logging, perhaps the use of covers was not possible.
The covers may protect from frost but would they have an adverse effect on a wet pitch?
As I have stated before, this was a major financial outlay for the club and protecting it has to be a priority and in particular to do the upmost to allow efl2 matches to be played.
Tis they that brings in the money.

"With holders Dorking going out in the last round, it would be great to see us get to the final given it’s 20 years now since we last lifted this trophy."
You obviously never know what sort of side the bigger clubs in particular might put out for any of these matches - but a final between strong Sutton and Woking line-ups would be good for the prestige of the competition.

This has been postponed due to a frozen pitch. Given the weather forecast there must be some doubt for the Crawley game. The photo on the official site shows that the pitch is presently completely uncovered.
