I'm disappointed, myself, and perhaps the call could have been made a little later. But of course the covers went down and I'm sure they went down eary enough. Have you seen the size of the bloody things, by the side of the pitch, during play? Does anyone seriously think the club don't have the sense to make maximum useage of them? Really? This is like one of my grandmothers, for whom nothing could ever go wrong, it always had to be someone's mistake.

5 National League sides with plastic pitches at home today - 5 games on - including up the road at Bromley. EFL really ought to rethink its attitude towards plastic pitches.

All a bit mad really. Ref getting heaps at Grimsby for having 2nd inspection at 1pm (after the 11am one), too late for travellers from Harrogate. There needs to be some common sense guidelines (presuming there isn’t). Ours could have waited, theirs was sensible to call at 11am given distances involved.
Then there’s this at Barrow 😂

Luckily I knew it was off but a friend of mine just arrived at the ground not knowing.
Really the club website is rubbish. The biggest news on there is about the Harrogate game. Tucked up to the right is a bit about the game being cancelled. Why was that not the main news all day today? I know the club have no control but once again the website is worse than useless.

Anyone going to carshalton instead? No question whether their game is on. Tempted, but more because of the sunshine and some decent pubs in the area than any football reasons.
I do find it hard to belive the pitch isn't playable by now but sounds like we aren't the only victims of questionable decisions.

I imagine chronology comes into play here. The latest update displaces the one before as the main headline. The fault lies not so much with the website, but with the decision to update it with the new headline before 3 p.m. |

Dos is pretty unhappy about Havant's match at Dover being called off today. Not because the game was called off, but because it wasn't called off until about 2.15pm. Havant's twitter feed shows the state of the Dover pitch at 1pm - and it clearly looked unplayable. Difficult for referees on days like this.
