3 attempts on target, all went in. The others were woeful.

Just to clarify the referee, Charles Breakspear was originally appointed when the appointments were made at the start of last week, and is shown on the EFL site on their weekly article, but there was a change to David Rock on Monday, too late to be reflected in the programme but early enough for me to know when I did the website preview. I have noticed before that sometimes these changes don't get through to/get picked up by, the media outlets who provide reports for various papers, websites and even the ITV highlights show, probably because the article on the EFL website remains unchanged.

We had a good number of shots blocked, they all looked to be on target to me. Surely "on target" doesn't just mean saved/blocked on the goal line.

Bogey team put to rest! In all honesty, I don't think we were especially good in the first half. A little clumsy and obviously missing the huge influence of Eastmond in the centre of the park. I think it's a little harsh to single out Enzio, especially as he did have a goal ruled out for offside. I thought 3 or 4 other players had a very poor first half. Their goal was a repeat of many a goal we've conceced this season - giving too much space and time without clearing our lines for an opposition to get a chance. But come the 2nd half it was a different story, which started before the substitutions were made. There was a period on around the hour mark of some quite relentless pressure from us with corner after corner. And finally we got the fruits of our labour and looked like the Sutton of last season - if we were playing this game in October we would have lost.
We did indeed have 3 shots "On target" yesterday, but overall we had 22 shots, 11 of which were blocked. Dennis' cracking shot against to bar will count as a "Shot off goal".
Last night was a really important win. Still means we've only lost one game in 2023 and we've not lost at home for 2 months. In contrast, more goals took place last night than in all of AFC Wimbledon's games since we beat them on New Years Day.
Oh the trivia questions yesterday: Swindon managers since Matt took charge in 2019 = 10. Number of managers since Dos took charge in 2008 = 27, including famous names such as Paul Hart and Paulo Di Canio.

I know we've had more than our fair share of poor decisions this season but allowing our equalizer has to be right up there with the worst of them. I thought at the time that we were rather lucky to get away with the prior challenge on their keeper. I gather though that there are differing views on whether it was a foul.

I know we've had more than our fair share of poor decisions this season but allowing our equalizer has to be right up there with the worst of them... When the ref blew the whistle for the restart I was convinced he'd finally come to his senses. I am note sure. I have seen them given yes, But I think it was a 50/50 challenge and Goodlife stood his ground and had a right to challenge for the ball. It was more a case of goalie error who fumbled the ball quite easily wand had risen above Goodlife. I think the Keeper looked for the foul and was a bit neive.

Just to Add to my review. I think Rose is starting to show he is very capable at filling Deano's Boots. Safe hands and good distribution, looking like a good signing.

Yeah Ward looked decent enough and obviously Swindon still rate him..

Just a few numbers for you.
Last season PPG for key positions 1st - 1.83 4th - 1.74 7th - 1.67 Sutton (8th) - 1.65 23rd - 0.82 24th - 0.57
Currently, both Leyton Orient and Stevenage are ahead of 1st place from last year. With the current year, our PPG total from last year would see us in 6th. This season, we're currently on 1.42 (which leaves us in 11th spot). If we maintain that rate, we'll finish on 65 points. Over the last 10 matches though, we're on 1.8.

If you watch the goal in slow motion, Goodlife goes up arm first and there’s definitely contact with the keeper, who flaps at it. Great reaction finish though, and with Enzio’s offside goal in the first half, put the ball in the net and see if the referee blows up afterwards.

And to add Jack’s concentration looks better to me than DB’s. I’ll go out of my comfort zone here and predict Jack Rose will become one of our top 🔝 recent GK’s.

My initial reaction was the keeper fluffed it, but the replay does look like a foul. There the ones which drive you mad if it goes against you, but if not then you love to see the ref give the attacking side the benefit of the doubt for a change. Keeper's body language after the goal suggests he knew he should have been much stronger and was at fault, despite contact.
11 blocked shots tells the story. We had a lot of decent chances but they threw bodies at everything. On the balance of play with our excellent 2nd half display, and with what's happened in the past against Swindon, we really deserved a bit of fortune.
Matt's interview is interesting. He said Swindon's unexpected 3-5-2 really threw us, which shows how much prep goes on tactically at this level.
