Apologies if a bit early to start this thread. It's the battle for 9th place - as a win for Sutton would see them leapfrog Saturday's opponents. Doncaster on good form at the moment having won their last three without conceding a goal. With Omar and Craig suspended, it is to be hoped that the likes of Louis and Will (and Adam Lovatt?) might be available again. If not, we should still hopefully be in a position to field a strong team - but our bench might be a little thin. Perhaps an opportunity for Matty Dennis to make his first start? it is understood that Doncaster's captain will be missing due to injury.

Donny have indeed won their last three (with Joseph Olowu reportedly the rock at the heart of their unbreached defence), but they lost their previous three, including a 1-0 home defeat to Hartlepool and a 4-1 tonking at Mansfield. So they're far from invincible.
We surely owe them after what happened at their place last August. I'd hope that memories of that debacle will give our players a little extra motivation on Saturday.
In this battle for 9th place, I'd like to see Angol and Dennis start up front. With Eastmond still missing, Matt has the option of playing a fit-again Milsom as a defensive midfielder, with Hart retaining his place at left back. It would be good to see Randall back.

Just to pinch this threat to ask a question rather than creating a new one. I notice none of our games have been live on TV yet? Am I missing something? Regarding the Game this Sat. They have won their last 3!, so, ....... Are due a defeat! We have had a very damanding last two games where the team has had to work very hard. I hope we are not tired on Sat.

I enquire whether there is any update upon the recovery of Josh Neufville as seems to have been quite a while since he suffered an ankle injury in a behind doors match .

I think the answer is that Sky have TV rights to all three EFL divisions, and understandably concentrate on Championship matches as these will generally command bigger audiences. It's not like the National League, for which BT have the TV rights, and where we recently spent five seasons in the top division.

Whilst Doncaster have won the last 3, their away record is hardly stellar. A win at Swindon (one of the 3 games lost under Jody Morris), a win at struggling Newport and a win at inconsistent Grimsby in the last 10 away trips, and 6 of the remaining 7 being defeats.
A win will obviously put us 9th, a draw could keep us 10th or drop us to 11th if Swindon beat Salford away but if we lose we could be as low as 14th if AFC Wimbledon, Barrow and Tranmere win (against Hartlepool, Bradford and Mansfield respectively).
Line up wise, I don't expect any changes except forced ones (i.e. Omar and anyone who has taken a knock) unless Will and/or Louis are match fit. I think it could be interesting to see if the player that starts in place of Omar is Angol. I just get a feeling him and Donovan will work well together, which in normal circumstances we wouldn't see those two on the pitch at the same time.

Why is Eastmond's suspension two games ?

Because it is his second red card of the season.
I pre empted Sol’s advice and asked Tony D on Tuesday 😀

Because it is his second red card of the season. I pre empted Sol’s advice and asked Tony D on Tuesday 😀 Oh I thought it was because the yellows took him over 10 cards for the season, which leads to a 2 game ban. His other red card was in the Pizza cup, so I didn't think that would have been the case as it's a different competition, and therefore if we were still in the Pizza cup and a game happened in that suspension period, he would still be eligible to play?

As explained to me earlier by Anna Allen (who used to work on disciplinary matters at the Surrey FA)...two bookings in one match are counted only as a red, not as two yellows (nor as a yellow plus a red).

The FA love to over complicate or change laws for changes sake.
Easty's red in the pjt was competition specific in that the one match ban was only covered by a pjt match.
So, why does it count towards an EFL ban in terms of number of matches should a further red be received in the league?
I am damn sure when I was working in discipline at County FA red cards were totally competition specific in every way.
Maybe this just covered the lower tiers of the Pyramid but it seems excessive that the FA go this way.
The SSC is classed as reserve football for Sutton and reds and subsequent suspensions are specific only to that cup. Well, they used to be!

Does that mean if he gets booked in his next two matches he will be banned for another 2 games for getting to 10 yellows - that seems a bit harsh. I think it would be fairer if the yellows were counted as two yellows ( in the cumulative total) and an additional one game ban for them coming in the same game which the club can choose to be served straight away or when the automatic ban 5 or 10 or 15 yellows is hit or the last match of the season is reached. Straight reds are very much different as usually clear cut violent conduct etc etc. so should be treated totally differently

Yes. Another ban if ten yellows reached

Now i am confused. What i believe is being said is that the red received in the PJT has counted as the first red of the season even though it was competition specific. This might make it difficult for Sol to predict an accurate score for this game.

This might make it difficult for Sol to predict an accurate score for this game. Blimey it is confusing. So Easty is basically being banned twice. He already received a ban in the PJT and now received an extra game ban for a red card that was in a different competition. And his first game back is against Newport where he was sent off last season! No doubt another 2 game ban coming up
