A couple of comments on Doncaster’s forum.. ‘Sutton are one of those clubs like Fleetwood and Morecambe that are like sh*t you can’t scrape from bottom of your shoe. It’s both a disgrace they did and entirely predictable they have beaten us’ ‘Sutton were a poor side but took their chances’ Entirely understandable why Swindon and Doncaster do not compete with the Loire Valley and Burgundy Regions of France for the quality of their wines. Apart from the more than inclement weather in those two towns I believe it is something to do with the sourness of their grapes. Is anyone else fed up of opposition teams and managers giving us absolutely no credit for beating them. Reasons why they have conceded goals against us range from "The centre back was having his hair done" or the back four were "at their Christmas party" very rarely that we played at all well! More to the point, that we managed the whole 90 minutes better than they did. Who could deny that they would rather watch Swindon (1st half performance) and Doncaster (also first half performance) than one minute of Stevenage based on recent games against us. This having been said football is about all aspects of the game not just the "Tiki-Taka" pretty stuff but also defending resolutely and lets face it, sticking the ball in the onion bag! Both Swindon and Doncaster basically "ran out of ideas" as the games went on due to the fact that we worked so hard as a unit and they had to concentrate more on defending against our attacking play . The referred to "Unit" must include Matt and the support team, of course who during both recent games have identified what is not working and have made the subtle changes required to bring us back into the contests so successfully. The sooner these teams realise that simply singing "We were a big team, We were a big team, You're not, You're not" doesn't win you football matches, the better. Anyway, enough of all this, I'm off to enjoy a glass of Chateau SUFC , a particularly fine vintage......

I’m a bit disappointed that none of the highlights iFollow have provided show the pivotal moment of the game, Coby’s goal-saving block minutes before he scored.

Really good to see Adam well enough to be on the bench after a prolonged absence following his head injury.

They say 'Sutton just pay hoofball' and at the same time moan that their team keep trying to play it, ineffectively, out of the back. What do they want?
OK, I'll stop it, now. I was just running with the ball, there. Obviously in far too much of a direct manner...

You need to revisit your argument, go back over old discussions and confuse yourself until you allow someone to seize the initiative with a counter argument

We have had to play as a good unit as we cant compete with other sides budgets. Since Matt has been here he has signed players who he thinks has ability and either want an opportunity to progress, or a second or third chance to progress, and as a result he seems to get a hard working team who all work to a system and then find a consistency in their play.
Yesterday we started very slow again but as the second half came to an end we looked the stronger side IMO. Second half we were the better and probably just about deserved the victory. But you have to give Doncaster Credit, they are a good side and if they were a bit more clinical Infront of goal it could have been a different story.
Angol has hit the ground running and seems to have that eagerness and eye for goal we have slightly lacked, Creating half chances for him self and being a bit of a handful. And to be fair Donny played very well along side of him. It looks like our options upfront have blossomed a bit!
Matty now has a head ache with Hart and Milsom (Can both play?) Cobi is the real deal. Ajiboye playing well, Randell still on form and nearly scored a peach. Our Squad is looking good. Earlier on this season I thought that we had too much of a poor start to make the play offs, Perhaps this still might end up the case but I wont be shocked if proven wrong now.
One things for sure, I think we can look forward to a third League 2 season. 3 years as a league side!

The difference with Angol is that he is prepared to shoot from anywhere, when have a tendency to over elaborate in front of goal. I do hope this is not “coached out”.

I don't think the others have had it 'coached in'. It's just been lack of confidence as the goals have dried up.

David A’s goal must be a contender for goal of the week as well as, at the moment, goal of the season. It’s scoring a goal like that must have added a few extra £k to his value 👍 We were thinking he was having a quiet game and then he comes up with that!
