Assume the on the day tickets can get purchased at the away end rather than the long walk to the home entrance. Can anyone confirm? From what I recall last season, there was a wooden hut just across from the away entrance.

I'm already down here and came across roadworks outside Reading, Bristol and just before Newport itself. Allow a bit of extra time in case any of these clog up

So the 50 point mark is reached with 13 games to go - in spite of all the injury issues that impacted us at the start of the season. Good to see Sam and Coby getting a chance to show what they can do - and Jack seems to get better and better. Run out of superlatives for the job that Matt has done.

Jack Rose probably had his best game yet, which shows you Newport had their moments. On another day we might have come away with nothing. But as ever this group will dig in and defend for their lives. Thought the centre half pairing were phenomenal today. Keeping our season well and truly alive.

When Hi Ho Silver Lining by the late Jeff Beck, born in what is now the London Borough of Sutton, was played as the build-up tune, one sensed that the omens might be with us. 😁
Newport media folk may have identified David Ajiboye as our main threat, but it was Will Randall on the opposite wing who tore through the home defence in the early stages of this match.
Coby Rowe has now given us the lead from a corner in consecutive games, Ali Smith this time providing the assist. After that we withstood a deal of home pressure, Jack Rose enhancing his reputation still further with a fine double save midway through the first half then, in the second, tipping a smart volley over the bar. Rather against the run of play, Smith scored the decisive second goal.
Newport were by no means the worst side we've faced this season, and this result was our best on the road so far. Other results today didn't go our way, and we're still 9th, but, with two home games to come against bottom-third sides, a play-off place is now within reach. Oh, and yes, we've now got 50 points.🙂 More meaningful stats might be the four wins and four clean sheets on our last six games.

From a Newport fan on the NTT20 Forum "I thought Sutton were absolutely excellent today. The corner that led to them going 1 up was dubious to say the least, but they were super clinical and they’re probably the best defensive side I’ve seen all season. After about 60 minutes we looked completely out of ideas on how to get through them. Thought they were fully deserving of that win"

Well done lads great result at a tricky place to go. Two good goals, especially Alistair Smiths strike, what a player he has become. Our defence is also getting better with every game, so the play off ‘s are in sight. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

It's about time we got a bit of luck and it came by the bucket load yesterday. Our first goal coming from one of two dreadful decisions from the referee (who admittedly got no help from his assistant), and our second taking a deflection past the keeper. On the flipside how did the man in charge wave away one of the most obvious penalties I've ever seen? Another Titanic performance from Jack Rose (did you see what I did there?). He's fast becoming one of my favourite custodians.

Enjoyed yesterday and it was a fully deserved win even though Newport had their chances and fought hard, though the second goal inevitably deflated them. Sutton’s defence was top notch and Jack Rose was my MOM. After criticising his kicking very early in the season that has improved considerably and I think he’s become a very good and consistent goalie. He seems to be increasingly confident in everything he does.
The first goal was very well worked although I don’t think it was a corner. Just one of a number of poor decisions by the ref. I don’t think he helped himself by allowing free kicks to be taken 30 yards from where they should have been taken. That wound the Sutton players and fans up and he just got worse after that.
At the time I thought Smith’s goal took a very slight deflection, but having seen the highlight on ITV4 I don’t think it did.
Looking forward to Crewe and Crawley the next 10 days. I saw them play each other a couple of weeks ago and posted a few observations on the postponed Crawley match thread. I commented on their loanee goalie Ryan Schofield who played yesterday in their 5-2 defeat. Fans are not impressed one bit, and I’m not surprised. If he plays in the GGL game I’m very confident Sutton will get that elusive third goal.
