Thought I would indulge myself and create this thread seeing as there does not appear to be one 😁
Looking at Newport's Form they are no way looking like a struggling side now, we have a tough game on our hands this Saturday. Who would take a draw?

Newport have drawn six of their last ten (three of those at home), so the odds on a draw on Saturday will be pretty short. They've only won once at home (2-1 v Swindon) since November, but have only lost one of those last ten (0-2 at Carlisle).
An incentive for us is that if we win, and if Bradford and Salford lose at Doncaster and Mansfield respectively, then we'd go 7th. (A draw for Bradford would suffice for that.)

A first time at their ground for me as previously i watched them play us at Gloucester in a Cup match. Looking forward to the trip and hoping the M4 isn't to busy if the rugby gets played.

The Rugby match starts at about 5:00 so we should be ok on the way home, Possibly a little more traffic getting up there.

Including the previous incarnation, which is essentially the same club, we've played Newport in 3 different divisions (Conference South, Conference and L2), and probably the club we've played away at the most venues (Glocester, Spytty Park and Rodney Parade). That would have included a 4th ground (Somerton Park) if Newport hadn't have folded back in 1988. Odd to think we have more league history with Newport where 7 other clubs are closer to GGL.

3 different venues also for Aylesbury and Slough ? And Bishop's Stortford? (Possibly even four - can't quite remember if we played them at Boreham Wood when they were 'between grounds', but I'm sure we did at St Albans.)

Did we play Maidstone at both Sittingbourne and Ashford ? (I can't remember). If so, they would be a four. My memory is definitely fading, did we play Wealdstone at one of their many groundshares between Lower Mead and Grosvenor Vale ?

I have it on good authority that both Stortford and Maidstone have met us on 4 different grounds.

Oh we'd played Maidstone at London Road, Watling St, Bourne Park, Homelands and the Gallagher (so 5 grounds if we're counting the old Maidstone United), but I was only referring to current league opponents!

Hi The M4 is always a problem between the bridge and Newport and will be worse on Saturday due to the rugby. Rather than struggle to J24 which sat nav will probably suggest leave the M4 at the junction after the bridge (sp Services) and take the A4810. This is a new road through the old steelworks and will take you to the A48 and past Spytty Park (one of the old grounds referred to on other posts here). Immediately after Spytty you need to turn right (which means taking the filter lane left and following the signs for Lliswerry). The road will then take you straight to Rodney Parade. Have a safe trip.

Suspect that Matt will go with the same starting X1 as last week - with Easty starting on the bench. Would be good to see Matty Dennis have an opportunity to start sometime soon.

Assume the on the day tickets can get purchased at the away end rather than the long walk to the home entrance. Can anyone confirm?
