This was a great win as Newport have got good players and had only lost once in 10 games while getting a point from both Leyton Orient and Stevenage. The only defeat in that time was away at second place Carlisle. Very hard to beat at the moment and that showed in how they can get forward pretty quickly, Probably only their poor start to the season is what will take them out of the play off race.
Our defence was brilliant and has been very solid of late, it was only really beat once in the first half with a great composed save from Rose saving us (Have we got a song for Rose yet?!)
Over all I think we shaded it and deserved the win with a solid away performance. Away from home you can only be as organised and solid as possible and try to take your chances when they come, which we did. Angol was caught sleeping a bit in the fist few minutes and if was a bit more composed and ready, could have put us a goal up before Cobi scored, Though he is still looking like a good signing, we also had a decent shout for a penalty waved away. Smith, Eastmond, Hart, Goodlife, Cobi, And of course Kizzi all played very well. Maybe not Ajiboye's best game yesterday.
A good away day against a tough team to beat, Reff was (particularly in the first half) poor and inconsistent.
Would be fantastic if we can get max points from our next two home games.

Great result but what was the referee on? Newport given all of the 50/50 challenges and numerous challenges on us ignored. Why the delay to let Hart back onto the pitch in the second half? Even if the ref thought he had gone down injured to waste time as an official you cannot bend the rules, especially after the ‘head injury’ in the first half. Shocking performance.

I thought we were under the cosh for large parts of the game on Saturday but after that win thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Rodney Parade . With two winnable home games coming up maybe we can edge into a play off position for the first time this season. Football web pages computer produced final table has us finishing 7 points off the play offs but that is predicting we won't win another away game this season based on our early season performances. There are some tough away fixtures left though with Barrow next which is never an easy place to win or even travel to!

After 33 games last season we were on 54 points.
Considering the Sep - Dec period we had with so many injuries, being on 50 points already is a testament to how well we've done since.
I said we'd get more points in the 2nd half of the season than the first. At the halfway point we'd got 29 points. In the following 10 games we've got another 21.
We've got nothing to fear with anything coming up.
