Coby Rowe's third goal in three successive matches fell over the exact same Saturday's in the season as Joe Kizzi's similar feat last season.

And you can always order one in advance if you think they may be more in demand. Completely sold out at GGL end at 230. Perhaps some of the programmes should have been moved from Collingwood Road to GGL end. I thought the club might have printed a couple more as it was the 125 anniversary. We did move programmes from both the Collingwood Rec and the away end to the Gander Green Lane end yesterday as per each of the programme sellers when they gave their takings in - the Gander Green Lane end sellers also said they moved some of the programmes from the club shop as well. Reviewing the Club Shop sales data (which were up 30% on normal levels) we were selling constantly between 10:54 and 14:49 yesterday so there was definitely programmes around post 2:30pm. The data shows that we only had one purchase where multiple programmes were purchased so looks like everybody was being reasonable in only purchasing one copy at a time so that programmes were being shared around An additional 100 programmes than what we would have normally ordered for this fixture were printed according to Lyall & Tony - the deadline for printing them was Wednesday evening. We were not expecting a rush of online sales on Friday night after the printers had closed for the weekend - a number of these were multiple copies being purchased. We have detailed programme sales data analysis and predicting the number of programmes is a difficult process but we do have a formula to try to predict how many programmes we are likely to sell and order accordingly - sometimes we get it spot on, sometimes we sell out early and sometimes we have a vast number of programmes left over that we have not sold. After each match I provide sales data to the board, senior management team and the programme editors who have the final say on number to print based on anticipated supporters that the away club have indicated they are expecting to see travel to us plus other factors such as international breaks where we have been the only fixture in EFL to be playing at home in London. I know a number of debates through different media sources occurred in November 2022 about the dwindling number of clubs that are producing matchday programmes and the decline in programmes - Bradford & Stevenage definitely in our division only do online ones and Newport who we played last weekend produce two versions - a full one for sponsors, league and visiting teams and then an online slim-down version that is electronic. It appears that the appeal for a programme continues to dwindle for U's supporters - 9.57% of attendees are purchasing a programme on match day (10.03% in 2021/22 season) and the metric comparison for away attendees is 9.95% (2021/22 9.83%)

Wasn’t the best game but as I found myself in London for a meeting on Thursday, I finagled a weekend stay so I could attend the match. A draw was about right although I was confident of a win. Liked the kit, once I had managed to sort out what was going on. Stopped in briefly afterward and saw some old faces but wasn’t able to attend the party, hopefully it was fun. It’s going to be a relatively balmy 17 degrees here on Tuesday which makes up for not being down the lane where it will be about 5 degrees.

Nobody seems to have mentioned it (I could be wrong) but Crewe were wasting time right from the start, even before they'd scored.
It's all very well referees adding it on at the end (only 5 minutes including all the substitutions) but why don't they clamp down on it by showing more yellow cards? Everyone gets annoyed by it (except the perpetrators) and if they get a yellow card they won't keep doing it.

When the opposition do this it is 'time-wasting' - when we do it - 'game management'.

It wasn't so much the time wasting on Saturday, although the 2 minutes added at h-t was a bloody joke but the ref's inability to deal with their 'keeper who kept moving the ball forward for free-kicks. Ref kept turning his back on it which is an absolute no, no. If he had booked him the second time he did it might not have happened again. Basic refereeing that but then this guy has always been about how good he looks than how good he is, which is not very.
I hate it when we do it but until the powers that be start dealing it through the conduit of the ref then it will continue.
The new one is to go down holding your head to stop play. Ref's have no choice but to halt proceedings and that is down to the players. Happened at Newport when the home player had a genuine leg injury but because match wasn't stopped as U's went forward he held his head to get the desired outcome.
