Slightly worrying for me that we had 10 days without a game but ended up with less players available.
Can’t fault where we are in the league but not quite play off material yet.

Our injury list seems longer than even the earlier part of the season at present. I hope the "slight knocks" picked up this week heal more quickly than some of the others .The unfortunate lad signed from Farnborough 10/11 weeks ago a case in point.

I won't comment on the game yesterday. Others have said and no doubt wil be added to. One question I would like to ask the historians on this forum is. I was talking to one of the security people yesterday and the age of the ground was raised. He said Mansfield's ground is the oldest but is Maidenhead's ground the oldest? Please correct me if I am wrong.

It did say professional ground on the stand signage.

Yes he did point out that sign. But as I said, I just wondered if Maidenhead's was older. Either league or non league.

I thought Dundo played well when he came on.

It did say professional ground on the stand signage. Wonder how many hundreds of years it will take to complete the ground 😂

Looks like they had a decent bit of terrace once upon a time.

Looks like they had a decent bit of terrace once upon a time. What is now the away end used to be a good sized covered terrace for home fans. The current home end used to be a modest sized open terrace for away fans. The disused side used to be a small stand similar to the ones at Woking with open terracing on the flanks. It’s been closed for a long time, a problem with access I believe. The current main stand is a replacement or rebuild of what used to be quite a large stand that was brought from Hurst Park Racecourse in Molesey, close to the Thames. Here endeth the lesson.

Cant say we played badly as away from home limiting them, a good side, as much as we did, deserves a degree of credit. But not surprisingly with the new attacking players injured it was much like before the new strikers arrived, we just lacked creatively and energy. A decent point non the less, I had the feeling we needed to win this to make our play off push come to life but still plenty of football to play. Onto other matters. I was a bit irritated with the Mansfield Stewards. From the first moment they were looking at us like we should not be there and IMO had an unreasonable manner about them. From the moment we sat in our seats they appeared to just stair at at us as if we were criminals or something. Not the best way to treat your paying customers paying their wages. And we have every right to make some noise for our team. I understand they need to make their presence felt and do a job, and of course some fans are idiots and ours are not always perfect, but I found their attitudes to be more provocative than diffusing. Of course not at the risk of painting them with the same Brush, it was a couple ladies, one with dark hair and the other blond who seemed the most disgusted at our presence

Yes he did point out that sign. But as I said, I just wondered if Maidenhead's was older. Either league or non league. A simple Google search could've told you Field Mill is comfortably older than York Road. However, Maidenhead's claim to fame is that their ground is said to be continually used for the longest period by the same team.

Didn’t they escort a rather inebriated Sutton fan from the stand at the start of the game.

The stares were completely unnecessary. Disgusted also how they handled a fan who had been vomited over by an intoxicated person - what else are they meant to do, just laugh it off! It really bugs me that most of the time we get treated like dog turd at away grounds! Highlighting Doncaster away with the circle of stewards round us and Port Vale last season with 20 stewards for the refreshment queue.

There was an incident that happened towards the end of the game. But that was to do with youngsters who think they can hold their drink but can't, and made a mess including on some other fans. He was correctly escorted out. But my main point is, there is a way to deal with fans and standing there giving them dirty looks all game long is just going to provoke a reaction. I noticed these stewards doing this before the game started.. I think they should adopt a friendly stance, and if something happens then do what's needed.
