Sad to say that I thought today was one of our worst displays of the season in front of one of our largest crowds. Season over imho. No real positives to take from that performance - sloppy, predictable, hoofball (just my honest opinion)
That said, at least we'll still be a League 2 side next season.

Season Ok and pleased to be in League 2 next season. League 1 is a long way above us.
If we want to compete in the play offs rather than finish mid to lower league some players that served us well in the National league will have to be released. Midfield and forward line need be strengthened.
I would say the season effectively ended two weeks ago with the draw at Mansfield.

I would imagine the gap between comfyish League Two survival and League One ambitions is down to stumping up a higher wage bill. Poisoned chalice with the latter choice at the moment. Survive and grow, slowly, in increments. Then possibly aim higher.

They looked tired and leggy today, we are safe for another season but it looks to me as if they have run out of puff. A sharper earlier in the season U's (same team) would have taken 6 or 7 pts from our last 3 matches.
Players who have been out for injuries have not really got back to their best, and although it never goes well when I say this but Wilson isn't ever going to score.
Tough league, needs a more robust squad to compete over an entire season.

They were another niggly team. The ref really didn't clamp down enough and their number 18 should've gone. After the yellow card he kept on showing dissent which warranted another. It was obvious the ref didn't want to issue another one.
Omar was a marked man right from kick off. Kylian was like a tank when he came on. I think they'd make a great partnership.

When are the shackles going to come off? . We are so predictable. Change the front two on 70 minutes. Why not leave one on at 1-0 down if play offs were seen as possible. Difference in class showed. The injury list grows and I see us getting few points between now and the end of the season. Big rebuilding project needed in the close season. Sorry what? Big rebuilding project? Is a mid table finish in L2 such a failure to go into a big rebuild?

Very unlike me (!) but I'll be direct.
If you have said "the season is over" then I'll ask if you will be turning up for any of the remaining games of the season. I mean why bother? Maybe just tell the players not to bother to turn up either.
I'm sure no one here is suffering from early onset dementia, but if someone said we'd be top half at the sharp end of the season you would have snapped their hand off. Amazing how short people's memories are.
Although today we didn't get a result, their keeper was busier than ours and if Randall's shot went in or the double goalie clearance from the resulting free kick things could have been very different. And losing the presence of Eastmond early on didn't help matters.
It will always astound me that there are people declaring a season already over where we could still get a decent place, which after the injury issues we've have could have been a bigger success than last year.
Finally I'm sure the players don't think the season is over. They've worked hard enough for that and I'm totally with them.

It’s just the general language used by not playing for something tangible such as play off position. We could still be fighting relegation, which would make the season well and truly not over. We all know which we prefer. It’s a good season, top 10 finish for a 2nd consecutive season would be a fine achievement and is something to aim for (and even if we fail no big deal). I’m sure most would say the same.

No subjective judgements from me – just stating some facts and figures from which others can draw their own conclusions:
• Last season we averaged 1.5 goals per game – this season, so far, it has been 1 goal per game – the same as Oldham last season; • Omar and Donovan have scored 7 league goals between them so far this season – 5 for Omar and 2 for Donovan – the latter not having scored at all for nearly 6 months; • However, to be in serious contention for promotion or the play offs, it’s goal difference that appears to be important – not necessarily goals scored. Orient haven’t been prolific goal scorers this season – and have scored fewer than Carlisle, Salford, Mansfield etc. – but they have only conceded 0.6 goals per game on average; • To be in serious contention for promotion or the play offs, based on the last two seasons, a team appears to need a goal difference over the season of at least (on or around) +15 – which is what we had last season and what the current top 8 have this season.; • Our current goal difference this season is minus 1 - suggesting that on average we will score 1 goal per game – but we will concede 1 as well – and this is some way off what appears to be needed to be a serious play-off/promotion contender; • From yesterday’s games – the current top 7 – W 4 D 2 L 1 (Northampton) – the current bottom 9 – W 5 D4 L 0 – the 8 teams in between the top 7 and the bottom 9 – W 0 D 0 L 8.

Stockport County become the second club this season (after Salford City) to complete a league double over us. Both are decent sides and it's not hard to see why they're above us in the table.
I don't think we played badly yesterday, and, were it not for some good saves by visiting keeper Hinchcliffe, we could have got something from the game. Our best spell came shortly after they'd scored, Hinchcliffe saving well from Will Randall then saving again following the ensuing corner, with a follow-up header cleared off the line. Ali Smith looked to have a great chance to equalise in stoppage time but couldn't quite get his shot away.
The lack of goals is a concern, with only one scored in our last five games. I'm not sure why Matt starts with Donovan Wilson, a striker whose effort I won't criticise but who hasn't scored for nearly six months, instead of Lee Angol.
As mentioned above, the injury to Craig Eastmond was a blow, and Will limped off later in the match. Expect some line-up changes at Bradford on Monday.

Thought we deserved at least 4 points versus Salford, we were totally in control of the home game until an off the ball sending off. Stockport though a good side had big helping hand in the first game thanks to the soft red and then we lost Eastmond early in the match yesterday. The stats will likely back this up but we’re significantly less good without Eastmond!

Anyone else notice that the fourth official put up the board for added time at half time after just 44 minutes yesterday?
