A predictable result given recent form and key players missing. We started slowly and I feared a cricket score when the O's went 2-0 up. An improved second half when we managed to bring our wingers into the game probably aided by the visitors taking their foot of the pedal somewhat. Our dead ball delivery was poor but we did manage to get the ball in their box plenty of times. Unfortunately we lacked the finesse, guile and incisiveness to get on the scoresheet. That's been a recurrent theme this season and I fear we'll struggle next unless it's addressed. Would an an attacking coach help? I'm not confident we'll win again this season.
Congratulations to Orient on their promotion. They looked a very solid and competent, if unspectacular, side. However, I did like the look of Smyth (No 7) who gave our defence, especially Hart, a torrid time in the first half.

Seemed fairly sparse in the home end. But yes good crowd. Orient in fine voice, barely heard a peep from them in the past!
Not a surprising result and at least a bit of fight shown 2nd half. Disappointed in a couple of areas. Firstly that we took until the 2nd half to work out we needed to push our midfield on from their goal kicks to stop them easily playing out and through us. Secondly set piece deliveries - about as bad as they could possibly have been.
They were a good side. Solid as a rock. Did the dirty stuff. And can play, decent wide player in Smith. Few divers in amongst them too for good luck. Congrats to them on their promotion and impending championship.
Onto the next. A nice easy home banker!

We looked tired. Time to try something different even with the limited numbers we have. Let’s try getting the ball down and playing to feet. It doesn’t matter if we lose. Lumping it forward is not working.

Thought we played poor in the first half but even then it took them two wonder strikes to be in the lead as they did not really break us down. A couple good saves needed in the second half as we pushed men forward but thought we looked better and matched them in the second half. But it just seems to be the same issue of being a bit toothless upfront.

Thought I'd drop by again and wish you well next season. It looks like we're up bar a catastrophic mathematical hiccup so, for us, it's been a historic and wonderful season. We'll have to see how things will be in FL1 but our biggest fear is the budget we'll need to keep/attract enough competent players to be competitive. Most of us think Vigouroux, El Mizouni and Smyth will not be at LOFC so we'll need to find some real quality, following Forest green is the biggest dread. What about Sutton? It seems that FL2 gets ever tougher and if big budget clubs like Notts Co and Wrexham come up from the NL, it won't be getting any easier. How do you all feel about the coming months?

Congratulations, definitely two of the best strikes we have seen at the Lane this year. As for us, We are hard to predict. We deserved the play offs last season with a squad not to far off what we have now and at times this year we have looked good enough. But we have also stuggled as soon as Injury hits and have lacked creativity up front. I would like to think we can stay up again next year. It will depend on who stays.

But it just seems to be the same issue of being a bit toothless upfront. We have been toothless upfront all season, the goals that have come have come from other areas of the pitch. I think we have scored 2 in our last 7 matches. When you add a few injuries to the squad you see our short commings, if everyone is fit we can survive at this level, but our form at the moment is relegation form.

Orient haven't quite clinched promotion yet, as it's still possible for Northampton, Stevenage and Bradford to finish above them. But it's almost inevitable that they'll seal it within the next seven days; if we manage to beat Northampton on Tuesday, that would be enough.
Yesterday's final score mirrored that at Brisbane Road in December, and Orient become the fourth club (the third in nine days) to complete a double over us. But this was always going to be a testing run of fixtures, and we were hardly helped by the absence of three important players. Additionally, it seems that illness may have been affecting some of the others; two in particular I thought played quite poorly in this match. A bumper crowd of over 4,800 (the 2nd-highest of the season at GGL) should at least have brought a smile to our treasurer's face.
Our goalkeepers tend not to fare well when facing Orient at GGL, the lively Sadlier's free kick ending up in the net via the bar and the unfortunate Jack Rose's back. We later had free kicks from similar positions, the first wafted over the bar and the second comfortably claimed by visiting keeper Vigouroux (and yes, I have checked the spelling this time). Some fine saves by Jack did prevent the scoreline becoming an embarrassment. Also worthy of a mention is David Ajiboye, our best outfield player yesterday.
So, after an impressive run of results through the winter, we now find ourselves in a spring slump, bottom of the form table with just two points (and two goals) from our last six games. We've still got tenth place to hold on to (11th-placed Tranmere are four points behind us), and our final four games are all against teams in need of points at one or other end of the table. It certainly ain't over yet.

Not sure it’s relegation form as we are coming up against the better sides in the run in. If teams don’t improve over the summer with the current squad we could finish mid table without injuries. To be reassured of survival we need a stronger squad. That might be the priority over ground improvements.

No doubt the squad will have to be looked at during the close season. But due to League requirements the ground has still to be upgraded. So we will have to wait and see what transpires on both fronts.

Without that we face expulsion regardless of what’s going on on the pitch.

Similar to Harrogate we may get a dispensation from the league.
