With just over half an hour gone, two Neil down and Brad house sent off. All you can say is dreadful performance, Matt will not be happy, more like fuming. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

I really hope that in Matt's post match interview he doesn't say that 'recent results don't detract from what has been a great season'. Some Sutton supporters spent a lot of money going to Colchester and Rochdale.

Have to say, its strange how we can go from play off contenders to a team who would struggle in the Nat league. Something is not right here. Its going to be a long season next year. If I was Matt I would toss a coin in the summer and really have a rebuild. nothing to lose it would seem.

Over reaction. A lot of mitigation. Got some tired minds and bodies, a virus going through the squad, missing Eastmond. Will all look different with a couple of new faces and a fresh squad. No need to panic at all. Obviously there are areas to improve, Matt knows that and already will have plans in place.

Congratulations to Stevenage on their promotion - after finishing 21st in EFL2 last season. This promotion was build on the back of really good recruitment last Summer.

Dreadful performance today, because Matt said in his interview yesterday that he wanted to win the game, so you can’t make excuses for that performance. I’m sure Matt will be fuming with that performance. The summer will be interesting. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

The wheels really have come off. I think Rochdale had one shot on target last week when fighting for their lives. They had a few more today. Carlisle must be thinking a nailed on 3 points on Monday.
Not going to be a great atmosphere in the club after the game.

I think the atmosphere will be great next Monday. The squad and supporters can celebrate another season in league 2.

If I was Matt I would toss a coin in the summer and really have a rebuild. nothing to lose it would seem. Todays performance was shocking with knobs on, its been coming for the last few weeks. A combination of tired legs and lack of strength in depth. So what is different from play off potentials to having the worst form in any of the top divisions ? Last year we ended at Harrogte with a 2-0 win, but that side had, Louis John, Easty, and Randall, that is basically the spine of the team. We don't have cover for Eastie in the shape of Kenny Davis this season, and we don't have strikers who score regularly, eg like Rochdale's Rodney who we should try and get he is too good for the National League. The team that played today would struggle in the National league, so we need to bring players in or next season could be uncomfortable, if we don't have our first 11 available.

I think the atmosphere will be great next Monday. The squad and supporters can celebrate another season in league 2. Might be Ok if we win. I can understand staying up is the priority but the last two games have been shocking and add to that 6 defeats in a row (possibly 7) If I was manager, player or a board member I would be deflated. I am as a mere supporter.

There is one small positive of late, and that's 2 goals in 3 games for Wilson!

The heart says “we comfortably stayed up with games to spare”. The head says “there maybe trouble ahead”. Matt’s close season is going to be busy…

The debate on this thread seems to be should we be happy that we will be in the EFL next season or sad that we have lost our last 6 games - and at times played awfully. They are not mutually exclusive. We all know we miss Easty when he is not playing - but we lose him at times every season to injury, suspension or both. We have some tired bodies - but what team doesn't at the end of the season? The main objective of the season has been met - and that's good - but looking ahead, it is clear that we need more strength in depth and better quality in some positions if that objective is going to continue to be met season after season. A lot of sides in EFL2 next season will be very disappointed if they are not in EFL1 the following season.

Well, that was embarrassing. To lose 4-1 once at a bottom-half club may be counted a misfortune. To do it twice looks like carelessness. Rochdale may be already down, but didn't play like a relegated side. And we made it easy for them. After their fourth went in, with over half an hour to go, about a dozen of our fans pointedly walked out. That should be noted.
Matt may be regretting starting our reserve keeper, whose inexperience saw him sent off for bringing down an opponent. We were already 2-0 down at that stage. Three of their goals were scored on the counter-attack, the other from a corner. The fourth was particularly painful, as Enzio counter-attacked, only for his pass to be intercepted for a counter-counter.
This Sutton team looks shot. Anything less than a confident win against Carlisle on 8 May will reinforce doubts about the side's ability to compete effectively in League Two next season. And that's allowing for the absence of three or four key players. As it happens, with several of our regular players out of contract this summer, a rebuilding of the squad may be on the cards already.
