A month since the last announcement a player had signed not surprised we are reduced to discussing rumours.

Nadesan one seems to have gone quiet. Am sure Matt working hard on getting the right players. Crucial we get some firepower/creativity in.

Reading between the lines on KK sounds like his agent is trying to stir up a better deal. I don't think even his biggest fan here would suggest he's a L1 quality striker and I suspect Blackpool had a look and turned him down. The agent's thinking is probably that the Blackpool rumour mightturn heads at a L2 club or higher paying conference club. All about money by the sounds of it and we all know what kind of money has been thrown around in the conference by the likes of Wrexham and Salford.
At this rate matt will have to consider different formations which don't rely so heavily on wing play as its looking unlikely we'll sign the 3 more wide players he's after. Could deffo see us lining up with angol Smith and Coley as a 3 on Aug 5th.
Most important thing is we keep goodliffe and omar fit as we really need that solid defensive foundation and sounds like Louis John is several weeks away. Can't be going into the opening games with makeshift centre halves.

To be fair Kizzi is far more than a makeshift centre half and with Jackson at right back we’d be fine.
Not sure I agree re wide players, we’ve clearly got a few trialling and loans will start to come through now. Matt will fill the spots, the key is them being good enough!

Yep I’m starting to fret just a little - just one proper winger (Coley) and still in need of attacking reinforcements?! Maybe they’ll be some additions towards the end of this week. |

Some players with other clubs become free agents from 1st August rather than 1st July. Some loan players won't be released until after league season has started - towards the end of the window. Realistically, we will have a team ready to play Notts County - but we will probably have stronger players in some positions as the season progresses. With no disrespect intended to any of the individuals concerned, there's no point rushing to bring in another Gambin, Ward, Pierre or Kendall if they are not going to be genuinely competing to be in our starting Xi. Wouldn't be surprised if Matt announced that one or two of the trialists had been signed up after tonight's game (no insider knowledge on this).

Perhaps the uncertainty with KK has prolonged any other dealing. As if he goes and we get some decent compensation, that can go into the next players wage or another clubs compensation. I imagine the delay with KK is more down to us making sure we get the best out of it as I doubt we can just let a player do what they like and tickle their fancy until they change their mind. Mind you, nowadays nothing would shock me... |

I feel it would be better if someone were to amend the word ‘RUMOUR’ in the title to lower case. I understand the reason that Paz chose to emphasize it (and it probably needed to be emphasized so that nobody was left in any doubt), but do we want the title to be shouting at us all the time?!

It's difficult to see how Blackpool could assess if he's a player that they might want if they don't try him out. Which might make one think that they're not that interested in finding out. An unfortunate limbo for Kouassi and for us. |

If he is on trial there the reality is he may possibly be offered a contract there. This may be holding up a possible investment in a new striker here.
He has not featured in any of their friendlies so it would appear his agent is trying to get him to join the Blackpool academy which is very strange. Personally, after this, I would not want him in our squad. We need players who want to be here and are 100% focused on the job here. He has missed pre-season and should not get ahead of some of the other lads who have been training with us. It's a silly situation and while we can blame his agent, ultimately his agent works for him.
Perhaps there is not much we can do about it and if they do not offer him a deal, or if he does not accept their deal, then we still have him and still pay his wages. It's no wonder Matt looked a bit peeved about it. Basically its a p*** take.
