Not a bad effort after Smith ruined the game. At least Angol will have had a confidence boost and hopefully we will have Kashket back fit soon..

2 quick goals. Poor decision making with the ball on the first, just turn them.
Early days but Barrow look like they’ve taken a step back from the last season.

Did Harry Smith wave goodbye to his team mates as he was going off?

Did Harry Smith wave goodbye to his team mates as he was going off? Am sure there’ll be some Notts County fans making this point online. Makes himself look even more silly (if indeed he was guilty).

Did Harry Smith wave goodbye to his team mates as he was going off? People have short memories. A certain Mr Deacon did the same thing in the Wimbledon replay on our famous cup run.

Another frustrating visit to a windy Holker Street. As in last Saturday's game, there was a red card around 15 minutes into the action, but this time the recipient was a Sutton player.
Like many others, I didn't see the off-the-ball incident that led to the sending-off. And yes, we did pretty well with ten men for over an hour, even having the audacity to take the lead, Lee Angol netting after his initial effort was blocked. We survived a spell of intense home pressure towards the end of the first half. But tiredness perhaps told in the end as we conceded twice in three minutes. After that, despite throwing Sowumni up front, we just didn't look like rescuing a point.
Unless there's a successful appeal, and assuming the red card was for violent conduct, we'll now be without Smith for three matches. Also, there may be a doubt about Josh Coley who seemed to limp off. He and Omari Patrick had good games, but to no avail.

Just seen Matts interview: He looked and sounded absolutely gutted with that result, just shows what this club means to him. Top bloke. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Disappointing to lose after doing so well with 10 men for so long, I think the changes effected our play. Lee Angol probably had his best game in a U's shirt, and was a threat to them. Once he went off it allowed Barrow the opportunity to push up a bit?
How silly was Harry Smith?

Once he went off it allowed Barrow the opportunity to push up a bit? How silly was Harry Smith? Not one person seems to be able to answer the Smith question. Gray in his interview expressed a lot of disappointment but not directly at Smith or the officials which suggests he isn't sure. The cameras missed it. One moment Smith had his arm around the players back the next he was prostrate on the turf so who knows if Smith actually lashed out. Identical to Wilson last season. It feels like sutton rarely get the benefit of the doubt in these situations. If nobody saw anything, how could the ref confidently produce a red that's what I want to know. Different to the ridiculous red for omar at Stockport and craigs at Newport but its absolutely clear sutton are seen by refs as a dirty team and we're more likely to get dubious red cards especially away.

Does the 4th official now ref the match from 45 yards away ?

Sitting to the right hand side of barrows new grandstand I saw Smith and their player come right up against each seemingly bootlaces got entangled Smith freed his boot the barrow lad used his arms to stop Smith moving away, Smith did a " Lauren James" stamp on the barrows lads foot. He went down with a very loud scream rolling around as they do.All this right Infront of the fourth official. Ref was told what happened over his earpiece and that was that. My bro next to me said as soon as he saw the ref go to ear earpiece he was off. Smith is a big bloke so I guess it might have hurt but their player was able to get up and run around for the remainder of game. As things go a red card without any possibility of an appeal. The late booking of Rose was very odd the ball in play goes well away from his goal so he runs to the nearest multi ball to restart play. what in the refs eyes should he have done? The time he had taken was but a fraction of the time on two occasions in the second half the barrow keeper took to decide to take a goal kick short or long.

So it sounds like handbags at dawn which the forth official decided to pin on Smith based on the other guy screaming?
Then again he should know better that if you react then you put yourself in that possition. As for Rose's booking, that was extremely bad refferying, even though only a yellow, can that be investigated?
It seems the attempt to tackle time wasting is disastrous. All it needs is a bit of common sense, the fans know when time wasting is going on so how comes the refs cant?
