Most of us will be there in hope rather than expectation after Tuesday's shambles. Gray should walk or be pushed if we don't at least put in a vastly improved performance. If we fail to win on Sat, we could be 8 points from safety, and it will be 1 league win in HALF A SEASON of matches. Utterly unacceptable at any level and 95% of clubs would have already fired their manager.
I only say we should act imminently, because in Neil Harris we could have a ready-made replacement. What he did at Gills (albiet with the reverse problem - solid defence and misfiring attack), along with a likely thick black book for january, IMO he has to be considered. Surely he's SE based and will feel massively aggreived at his sacking, with a point to prove, and would relish an instant return to management. We need someone hungry but with experience and he fits the bill. Give him 3 months to assess the squad and potential new recruits for Jan, while hopefully keeping us in touch with the pack above.
As much as I would love to see Matt Gray with a smile back on his face, if we lose on Saturday, I don't see any way back for us this season under the current management. I'm sure many supporters also feel the same as I do that the current level of committment and effort from the players is not deserving of my time. Judging by the turnout on Tue (2100 my arse), many have already reached that point, but I am willing to give one more chance to the players.

Clean sheet on Sat please. Anything else is a bonus. Looked liked we picked a side to get a clean sheet on Tuesday. Trouble is we’re not defending well and sides can score goals even if you do. Yes always look for clean sheets and to defend well but if we just think about that it ends up in the negative mindset we saw on Tuesday. I think we need to go the other way and look to score goals. I’d like to see us go hell for leather for 3 goals. Start thinking that way and it’s more positive than waiting for defeat or hoping to scrape a result. Only wins will get us out of this. We may as well have a proper go.

As I stated on another thread Gills fortunes only changed under Harris when that black book was accompanied by a massive financial input by new owners. We don't have that luxury. Under those limitations, would he entertain SUFC? Could we afford him? As for the fans, it was always going to be the case if our fortunes changed for the worse.

I'm not sure Kashket would be too happy to see Neil Harris turn up as manager here after his comments about leaving Gillingham.

Erm….Matt is still the Sutton Utd manager. Bit disrespectful discussing Neil Harris and what might be.

Unfortunately for Scotty, the reality of a ACL is a year on the sidelines. We may never see him in a Sutton shirt again regardless, so it's not particularly relevant. Feel for the lad - saw him in the stands on Tue and he was hobbling around and very downbeat, as you can imagine. Such a shame as he showed real glimpses of a potential partnership with Smith, but they only had the Notts Co game, and possibly another but not sure.

How amazing and rosy everything is at SUFC? That will be scintillating. Sorry, but after the Salford game, discussing possible MGMT replacements is fair game, and one major hurdle other posters have mentioned is a lack of an obvious replacement. Speculation is purely that. Who do you expect to be offended or feel disrespected? MG has openly stated he does not read the forums. It's a place for fans to speculate and discuss all things SUFC, and if you don't understand that, you don't understand freedom of speech.

I doubt Neil Harris is ever going to be the Sutton United manager, so this is all irrelevant.

Mark Hughes is also 'recently available' - how likely a move to Sutton?

They're as entitled to state their opinion as much as you are. I feel they understand that perfectly.

But getting a clean sheet will also do wonders for our confidence, especially our very fragile defence which I think we're all in agreement is our biggest problem this season.

While speculating about a possible replacement for Matt is somewhat disrespectful given the situation it is also inevitable.
Both positions are valid, they are not mutually exclusive and it's not a matter of principle.
What will become a tiresome tennis match, though, is if we keep telling each other what we can and cannot post concerning this.
Perhaps a separate thread for such speculation might be useful? Then those who don't wish to take part in it don't need to read it.

Given the run of results at the end of last season and so far this season I think it is wise for Matt not to read the comments on this forum ! I for one hope for a good win tomorrow for every bodies sake but really cannot see that happening . Should we not win then a new manager is a must for me .

Gillingham were looking like a relegation team until they got a blank cheque and I was surprised they didn't sack him straight away. With our budget, you might as well keep Matt than hire Neil
