Well today couldn’t have gone much better than that as far as Sutton United is concerned; no matter that Walsall were abysmal, 4-0 did not flatter SU one bit and a clean sheet was the icing on the cake.
This should give the team, the whole club a massive boost. All played well, standouts for me were Hart, Coley, Patrick and Smith.

May I also add I though Clay had a dominant performance as well. Well done lads let's build on this.

An almost faultless performance from Harry Smith 👏 Kizzi also had a very good game. The defence was still suspect in the first half, but improved as the game progressed. So pleased for Matt.

Yep, I agree about Clay who I described as "ordinary" in another thread. He was terrific today. In fact, everyone had a good game. We must, of course, build on this and not get carried away by a single excellent result and performance against an extremely lacklustre Walsall side.

Thankfully we got a performance at long last. Defence still looked shaky but if we can get something at Doncaster then we can pull out of our nosedive back to the Conference.

Fantastic performance and result.
I was stood behind the dugouts and it was wonderful to see the joy on Matt’s face (especially for goal 3 and 4)

I am delighted for Matt, Its about time we saw a smile on his face and his team dominated today. We can address how Walsall looked poor, but we got right up them, you cant win 4-0 with out playing well.
Not only a good day for our goal difference, but the first clean sheet in god knows how long. What pleased me is to see some passion and unity from the boys which was just what the doctor ordered.
But lets not get carried away. I was still unhappy with some of the defending in the first half, both Kizzy and Goodliffe gifting Walsall possession in and around our box, but perhaps we put some nerves to bed as the second half was better and we did what was needed.
With Eastmond out for a while, Clay stepping up was needed and N'Guessan is a great signing. Smith took the bull by the horns today and Coley and Patrick were a threat. All the players pulled their sleeves up.
Its where we go from here, Just have to make sure we remain competitive and keep working on that defence and as long as we keep within three points of a few teams above us then we might have a chance.

Can I just say congratulations to Matt and the team today, they were under a huge amount of pressure. As they say when the going gets tough, the tough get going and every man jack of them rolled up their sleeves, and delivered a superb win, just like I said they could.
Patrick, O'Brien and Smith were formidable, Hart proved any doubters wrong by showing his class. To win 4-0 you need 7/8s all over the pitch and we had that today.
Its only one game but it puts us back in the mix with every chance of climbing away from trouble.

4-0 for the home team 😢
Be careful what you wish for, funnier things have happened before and this is football! 🥴
The above is a bit condensed but I was right wasn’t I?

I have not been to a home game for one reason or another since the Cambridge win back in August so was really impressed with the energy and endeavour shown today even if at times we looked a bit shaky in defence early in the game in particular. One of my fellow fans is now going to have me extricated from my house and frog marched to every home game going forward. Well done on a real team effort.
