Can I firstly say well done to Matt, finally getting a result that goes his way and secondly well done to the team showing no lack of effort to the cause. Thought Coley had one off his best games with the assist with the goal and Harry B getting the late winner. One thing you cannot say about him is that he gives one hundred percent effort for the team and is one of our best ever midfield players, so Let’s hope this is a spring board for more results. So now on to the cup. ⚽️⚽️

Play like we did on Tuesday, and we'll get something out of Saturday. And we did. Top work team. The 3 sides we've beaten this season are 3 sides we've never beaten before. Things really are starting to look up. Only 1 bad performance in 6 games (Doncaster). All of the others either went our way or were really close. I have a feeling that by the time we go to Grimsby at the end of November, we'll no longer be in a relegation spot. One off bad or good performances means very little but now we're seeing a much more positive pattern. Now let's banish talk to "Matt Gray out" and really get behind the team to push them on. They need us as much as we need them.

That hard fought 2-1 today will, I think, do the team more good than the big wins against Notts County and Walsall. They should take real confidence and encouragement from the fact they were good enough to fight back from an equaliser against a team that was on top at that stage and looking the more likely to get a winner, steady the ship (I think Jackson for Coley was significant) and then grab a cracking late winner from Beautyman.
The club now needs to take the cup game v AFC Fylde seriously and get into the hat for the second round. Use next week to build a little run. They’ll gain confidence from that.
I’m convinced that, overall, this squad is better than last seasons. This squad has a goal threat. Sort out the defence and this team can gradually get out of trouble. I’m convinced of it.

Our first win this season with a late goal after riding our luck in the second half thanks to poor finishing by Bradford's forwards in particular Cook lead to the bars being busier after the match than they have been for a long time. A special weldone to Harry Beautiman whose commitment to the club cannot be doubted though there was good commitment shown by all the players today.

Let's hope so and in some ways a better performance than the Notts and Walsall games where we were comfortably in control for almost the entire 90 minutes having established healthy leads early on. Today demonstrated what fine margins there are at this level with any of three results looking almost equally likely until our winner. TBH I thought Bradford were getting well into the ascendancy after their goal but it turned out to be a case of us weathering the squall rather than storm. A special mention for Coley who I thought was excellent. No more false dawns please - we really need to start stringing points together now.

We still seem very open at the back and we’re fortunate not to go behind. Still plenty to work on but as they say onwards and upwards.

Certainly less in control than other games we’ve managed to lose this season. No doubting the commitment and work rate. Things are slowly turning. Got the rub of the green today we didn’t get against say Morecambe amongst others. Got the makings of a really good side and it’s starting to come together. Really like Jackson and he’ll be vital as the season goes on. Thought to their credit N’Guessan and Clay had their best game together and fought for everything. One run from Christian out of defence to relieve pressure was superb. Probably helped them having Harry being more focussed on defensive work than a Patrick which has proved a good move from Matt to shore us up a little.
Think again credit to the crowd. Very positive. Doubt there is another ground in the league where the support has stayed right behind the team in the situation we have found ourselves in. We’re not the noisiest or the largest, but we’re playing a part at home. 3 performances in a row - Walsall, Morecambe and Bradford.

Could so easily have been 2-1 to Bradford but we got the three points. We still seem very open at the back and we’re fortunate not to go behind. Still plenty to work on but as they say onwards and upwards. Then we lost a few games where the boot was on the other foot, make no mistake a fully deserved win down to sheer determination and effort from everyone today. Still lots of work to do, but show our recent effort in every match between now and end of the season and we will not be relegated, drop below that standard and we might. Coley superb, and what a moment for Harry to get that winner..... ONWARDS AND UPWARDS.

Does this mean that I have to take a new friend to every game?

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the referee. Where do they find them?

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the referee. Where do they find them? Oliver Langford has been refereeing in the EFL for years, mainly in the Championship. Seen him loads of times, he’s not improved.

If that's the standard of refereeing in the championship then god help them and indeed football in general in this country.
I wouldn't have wanted him on a Sunday morning. Appalling. Gave Harry Smith nothing until late on and then when he did booked Harry for thanking him.
Would rather have had Bonnie Langford refereeing than this twit.
In a season where the standard of officiating is quite frankly an embarrassment to the game, that performance ranks alongside the fella at Crawley. It's just not good enough.
What the hell do some of these guys think they see at times? On a different planet to the rest of us.
Fortunately, didn't have any say on the outcome. Went ahead, rode the storm and won the match. Great character shown. Welly happy for Harry B, capped a fine performance with that winner.
Bradford heavily reliant on Cook and fortunately he had an off day in front of goal.
With Colchester and FGR winning those three points were vital to keep on the shirt tails of the rest.

Well, my tickets are purchased. I am bringing a friend along who has never been to a football match. So I thought, why not Gander Green Lane? I've taken quite a few friends with me before, and every time I have Sutton have won. So I am hoping that she brings the same luck along with her. ..and she brings a brolly. If you get in early you may bag a place under cover. If the forecast is right this will be a thorough test of our new grass pitch's ability to drain. And she didn't need an umbrella. But Sutton still won! We met a few really decent Bradford fans today too.

Much better today. Sutton defended well. Bradford's goal can be put down to a goalkeeper's error - Dean tried to get a fist to a corner he had no hope of reaching because at least 5 bodies were in the way, he missed and was out of position. The outfield defending was good. Rob Milsom does not do the overlapping fullback stuff, his contributions to attacks are from free kicks and long throws only. However he was occupying the correct place for a left back every time we needed one to defend.
Strange to read another post saying N'Guessan and Clay had their best game together - because my impression of the pair on today's showing is they are not quite good enough for a team hoping to reach mid-table. Harry Beautyman had a superb game, displaying a lot more energy than all his younger colleagues and deservedly bagging the winner.
I agree totally about today's referee - incredible the wrestling he let go. When both players ended up on the ground I expected him to kneel and check whether both shoulders were pinned to the turf before giving a decision.
