Our first league game in November and a trip to a resurgent Colchester this weekend who despite going out of the cup last week have won their last 3 in the league including Tuesdays win against Swindon.
Saturday marks the start of a mini-run of games which should be viewed as winnable for us and having recorded back to back wins we should go into this game with some degree of confidence. Keen to avenge last seasons heavy defeat at Colchester towards the end of the season we did beat the other U’s 3-1 in our debut EFL campaign.
I’d imagine Omar will be reintegrated to the squad again after the Bradford concussion incident so it’s just the four longer term injuries I guess but Matt might mention more in his pre-match interview with the Tony.
First trip to Colchester for me this one so really hoping for a positive result.

Is not Ben Goodliffe suspended? 5 bookings. This to my mind is a very hard fixture given Colchester's current form, we will need all our players at their very best.

I would agree. Very tough game against a team with no manager as the one who was appointed could not take up the post due to a dispute with Crawley town. However he may be operating behind the scenes!
Colchester have really picked up lately and this could prove to be a really difficult game to win.It would be great to get an away win under our belts and as usual am really looking forward to a trip up the A12. Anyone driving there is a park & ride virtually next to the ground and at £3 is good value.

As others have said not going to be easy going there with their recent results. But we also are starting to build a bit of confidence and should have a bit more freshness about us given they played mid week. If we can pick up something then we have to be happy, at some point we’re going to win away though so why not this week. Would be a huge boost to start going away and getting results and would show that things have very much started to turn in our favour.

As soulless out-of-town box stadiums go, can't beat Colchester's. Awful awful ground.

Stuart, you’re being a bit harsh there about our ground, it has character and history and with more ground improvements on the way the views will only get better.

I don't think Del was talking about our ground, I believe it was Colchester's.

Not feeling confident, they have well and truly turned a corner and I am still not confident in our defence. But I will be positive and say we get a 2-2 ..

This is the first of a run of five league games from which the team should be targeting a bare minimum of ten points. Three of the games are at home, and four against other clubs in the bottom third.
After that, things get much tougher: between mid-December and the end of January we've got nine scheduled league games, only three of which are at home, and six of which are against top-half sides - including three of the current top four. If we go into that run still in the relegation zone then our prospects will look pretty bleak.

Morning folks, Colchester fan here.
Just a warning to those driving down to the game tomorrow, there are major road works on the A12 near Stanway just outside of Colchester, they have been causing delays and diversions which are especially busy at weekends so leave plenty of time for your journey.Enjoy the game and don't forget to pick up your free programme, they will be available in the concourse and the club shop.

Saw Colchester at Shrewsbury last Saturday in the FA Cup - two very average sides. Colchester posed little threat but scored two goals which says more about the Shrews defence. Not until the final few minutes when 1-3 down did Colchester pose any real threat. Well, that's jinxed the result for the Us tomorrow and sides approach home games differently of course!

Difficult watching that, not because we weren’t playing ok but just nervous. So deserved to get at least a point .

That moment when you get a high with a late goal away at Colchester and feel buzzed, then you look at the league table. Have to give them credit for our first point on the road. And undefeted in three now, all be it only just.
