Best away display of the year. Better team from start to finish. Off the bottom😃 I hope the ref got a new watch for Christmas because the one he used today is broken. Eight and a half added minutes ? !!! Apparently 4 of the mins added was for the flares 🙄

This is one of those games I'll go to more in hope than expectation. AFCW have improved since last season while we've gone backwards. Easy journey for me, as the Plough Lane stadium is a 15-minute walk from my front door. 😀 Anybody getting the tube from Morden may wish to consider alighting at Colliers Wood, crossing into Wandle Park, then following the Wandle Trail down to Plough Lane. It's a pleasant 20-minute walk, and there's a chance of seeing a Kingfisher. After the game, fans of both clubs will be mingling amicably in the Sultan pub (my local), Norman Road, South Wimbledon. There's the possibility of a move on to the Trafalgar in High Path, Merton. How is the drink up going?

Football eh. There’s a side there somewhere. Great, and wholly unexpected, result.

A massive well done to Jason and the entire team. Played with real spirit today and secured the result the performance deserved. Onwards and upwards……plenty of games remaining!

Obviously the result is brilliant, but that performance was spectacular. They have repeatedly shown they can play to the level we saw today, and they simply must do every game going forward.
If they can put that shift in we will win far more than we lose. Heartening result and performance.

Eight and a half added minutes ? !!! I got a lovely new watch for Christmas but he can't have it. That was the most I've enjoyed a football match for a long time. Where did that spirit, determination and togetherness come from? That, my friends, is what we've been missing. How good was it to see that again?!

What a brilliant and well deserved win, I never did much bother about local rivalry its just the 3pts I wanted.
Its of course great for Jason to get our first away win in 10 months, but you do have to feel for Matt, being just a week away from be able to play the likes of Ben G, Gape, and Sowunmi and with Hart getting back to his best.
No doubt the better side won today.
The form table over the past 8 matches has U's in 15th on 10pts, with sides above now averaging less than a point a game, that form could well be good enough to save our EFL status.
Onwards and upwards, escaping the dreaded (R) symbol would feel like a league title.

Another tough match for a depleted Sutton squad. There was a glimmer of hope in the way we played on Saturday. A local derby could throw up a surprise result and i have a feeling we are going to come away from plough lane with all 3 points but don't bank on it! Travelling to the ground won't be easy as there are no trains running to Haydons Road but some have suggested a 280 to St George's Hospital and then a 10 minute walk. However looking at the number of stops along the route i'm planning to park up at Morden underground and take the tube to Tooting Broadway. Then either walk or get a 493 to Plough Lane. Parking would appear to be extremely restrictive near the ground and parking restrictions will still be in force on Boxing day. Your eternal optimism has been rewarded 🫡

Very good performance.
Team seems to be playing with a bit more composure and look more relaxed. If Jason wants this job he has made a good start in making his claim. I thought he managed things very well today. Smith, what a hard shift he put in, but I dont think we can choose a man of the match as all worked so hard.
The players knew a win was needed and done the job. Hopefully they have some steam left for Friday. Nice to hear the fans as well, while we have had nothing to sing about we do need to try and give this team a lift like we did today...
8m injury time? 1 min for a goal, Omar B took a dive trying to get Smith sent off and stayed down for a min, other than that nothing. Flair? Ok add another 1m, or 2m max if you want. Time should have been 4m or 5m max.
Despite efforts to give AFC more time and galvanise them, thankfully we played the game out ok. Shame, as other than that the ref was ok.

The team won that through sheer hard work, something we've not seen in a long while. We pressed from the start, dominated the midfield and were first to most loose balls.
If we can produce a minimum of ten more performances like that this season, we're staying up.
It was a great team display, but I thought Harry Beautyman and Dominic Gape (before being subbed at h-t) stood out, as did Ryan Jackson as we defended that lead late on. Also a good 45+ minutes each from Ben G and Omar, the latter, decisively, getting his name on the scoreheet.
I'm delighted for Jason, who's been dealt such a difficult hand since taking over. The test now is whether a similar approach is taken into Friday's match at Gillingham.

Your eternal optimism has been rewarded 🫡 I will put my hands up and admit that before the game when a Bradford fan of my acquaintance said, "please can you beat Wimbledon for us today," I replied "no chance whatsoever - sorry!" Consider me suitably chastened, or as chastened as you can be with a big smug grin on your face.
