Whilst I agree with Del that we still have 15 games to go and so still plenty to play for I am also of the mindset that we are going down unfortunately . This is not me throwing in the towel but like so many posters on our forum just being realistic whilst hoping for a miracle . I accepted we were going down back in November and posted as such and I have seen very little since to alter that view . For me the big question is can we stay in the NL next season ? There are many very good sides there with big budgets and we will do good not to fall straight through that division too , no matter who is in charge . Again , this this not me throwing in the towel but just being realistic .
One further point / question I would ask is will we be able to afford to replace our pitch again so that it can again become a revenue source ?

Stats tell a different story though. 60-40 possession in our favour and more attacking play away to a team challenging for the play offs. Simply put we need to find a cutting edge and quickly. Hopefully Steve will find the right formula. Before Steve took charge we were getting outplayed every game and that is not the case now. It was always going to be a tough ask at Morecambe. Before Stockport we were 1 win and 4 draws from the prior 5 league games. Simply not true that we were being outplayed every game. Let’s not change history. We gave everyone else a 10 match head start and we haven’t found the wins to get momentum needed to recover the situation. We’re playing slightly differently style wise but it hasn’t translated to goals as yet, the signings look mixed and the odd ongoing selection is plain baffling. All those extolling the change of system and mixing it up as some sort of magic bullet have been shown it isn’t quite as simple as that. No doubt Steve came into a very difficult situation but he hasn’t had the impact he would have hoped for at this stage. Obviously very early days in his tenure but the question is increasingly turning towards re-building next season.

Totally agree we need to start scoring more goals but, whilst we're conceding fewer than we once were, a few clean sheets wouldn't come amiss with just a couple in the last four months. Stating the obvious but clean sheet = one guaranteed point with the potential for three.

Talk of squad rebuilds in February when we have a third of the season to go is utterly ludicrous!

Regarding the pitch question. The EFL legislates that 3G pitches are not permitted, unless they change their rules!!??. The only way the pitch can be changed back to a 3G is if we are relegated. That could cost the club a lot of money, running into hundreds of thousands? To which I don't think the club have.

I am not suggesting that the pitch is changed.I was just answering the previous post regarding the pitch situation.

Sorry for any confusion caused by my asking about pitch replacement . The point I was trying to ask was if we go down could we afford to replace one EFL regulation pitch for a more community friendly one that could be hired out for a regular revenue stream as before . Paz has suggested enough revenue is gained by having Palace women and U21’s using it .

We are due to have new seating put in before next season. Is that scrapped if we get relegated or do you think the club is committed to it anyway ?

As I understand the situation, the rec-side development is planned to happen in stages. If we go down, I imagine that the first stage will go ahead but the later ones may have to be put on ice.
I've just read the rather repetitive match report in the FLP. Once again, the assessment of the ref's performance is generous; I don't think many from either side would have given him an 8 out of 10 rating.

I still cling to the hope that we won’t go down but we are running out of games and definitely need to win one of the next two

We lost yesterday really for the same reasons we've lost many other times this season a) Poor defending for their goal b) Not being as ruthless up front.
In normal circumstances a 1-0 defeat at Morecambe isn't a terrible result (remember they were L1 last season) but we're not in normal circumstances.
We're far from mathematically relegated, and I just get the feeling when we finally break the seal, the waters could gush through. These players need a confidence boost, but only they can make that happen.
To me, all talk about what happens next season is just noise.
