Is playing youngsters, at a formative stage of their careers, in a team with a losing habit at a much higher level than they're used to, a sensible idea? I'll defer to the manager on that. I thought Taylor seemed fine, so no reason a few of the others cant also do fine, and it is they who will likely will be playing rolls next season. I imagine our defence wont be here next season... Goodliffe will move to another league club, as will the likes of Kizzi, Jackson and Hart. As we wont be able to splash out on replacements it makes sense to use some of the players knocking on the door, see how they fair and give them a great opertunity.. Hart will have been relegated with three consecutive L2 clubs. If any L2 manager signs him, they're really tempting fate. I think he's a decent conference level wingback and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he stays with us. Kizzi, maybe could stay at league 2 level. Goodliffe, tbh I'm not sure he suits SMs style anyway. Regardless of our division next season, I can't see more than a handful of the squad remaining, and very few of them have a league future based on how this season has transpired

Yes have too agree with others that our final ball to day was poor and as Steve and Arnold have said in their interviews we need to be more ruthless in front of goal and stop taking the extra pass, its just not good enough, the lack of goals really has coast us.⚽️

Another tight game that the opposition just edged; there have been too many of those. That said, were it not for Steve Arnold's saves (including one from a penalty) we'd probably have lost by more than the odd goal. We had some decent attacking play, but couldn't find the killer ball in their box. Tranmere defended much more resiliently than Notts County. And we failed to keep close tabs on their danger man Rob Apter, who scored their goal late on.
It's clear that Steve Morison wants to give young players their chance, and Jack Taylor didn't do his prospects any harm after coming on for Ben Goodliffe. It's very doubtful that the experienced players can save us now. But throwing youngsters into a relegation scrap isn't a great way to build their confidence.

The effort is there as it has been all season, yet the quality in front of goal just isn't, and that is why we will be playing National Leauge football next season.
As Steve says the team fights on until it is mathamatically certain we go down, but I remain frustrated we did not make that one quality signing I think would have kept us up.

The only straw left I have to clutch is Walsall have won 5 straight games.
Only followed on Twitter and it felt like they always had the better chances and Apter is a quality player playing in a problem area. He could have had a couple.
According to the stats they only conceded 4 fouls all game, extraordinary.

Hart wasn't good enough imo. Every time their winger had the beating of him and he was left far too exposed.
Decision making in the final 3rd cost us as did the inability to put a quick ball in the box early.
We hung on to the ball for far too long.

Not sure why Hart’s being singled out.. several of the games I’ve been to this season he’s been our best performer! Hope he stays with us whatever league we find ourselves in next season.

Because some people need a scapegoat. Now Bouzanis isn't playing, they need to blame someone for the loss. Hart did have some silly moments in the first half, but he also made a couple of brilliant tackles. For me, the reason we didn't get a point or win the game was more than "we were not ruthless enough". Tranmere gave us plenty of opportunity to counter, but every time without exceptiong rather than using that advantage, we decided to play "the triangle", allowing Tranmere to regroup and defend. We could have won this, but again we didn't. To the two morons in our 100+ crowd who spent most of the 2nd half shouting pretty nasty abuse at the Tranmere keeper (who literally did nothing to deserve it) - you were an embarrassment to the club and us other fans.

Not sure why there are discussions re next season and who might/might not be playing for the club.
We still have 10 ‘cup finals’ to play this season.
Wins against Grimsby and FGR is obviously a must, plus 4 more wins - this might be enough.
Still 30 points to play for.

These discussions are taking place because, while it is still possible that we could stay up, the great likelihood is that we will go down. Increasingly so with every passing match. So some fans are mentally drawing a line and preparing themselves for what might come / should come next as regards the squad. While you may not agree with it, it surely isn't very hard to understand? On a purely 'I get where you're coming from' level?
