Isn't it 8 regional groups of 4- then straight QF SF Final. Not clear if it will be regional all the way to the final - but likely will be. Not necessarily PL teams I understood it was Catergory 1 academy teams which could include Championship clubs.

It also stated PL clubs, not specifically cat 1 one clubs. From the NL Paper x.com/ollie_bayliss/status/1809880857965916287?s=46

It is still going ahead as far as I am aware - Steve referenced it in his interview with Podcast Mike

One thing is certain - It won't be called "The National League Trophy" Certainly looks like it will be..

Doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason as to what national league clubs are taking part. Wonder if there was an option to opt out. Disappointed we didn’t if there was

For what it’s worth - we’re in Group D alongside Nottingham Forest, Tottenham, West Ham and West Brom (all u-21 sides), Braintree, Dagenham and Ebbsfleet.

It’s not been done particularly geographically so I can’t work out how the 16 teams have been chosen

Spread across the 16 teams and all depending on results that won't work out as very much money especially for the teams that do poorly. Counter that with the costs of running the games and the potential 7 games we'd have to play against the 8 sides that aren't playing. What would the attendance for Braintree vs West Brom be? Double digits? No way that makes money

I’m minded to think it’s the right decision unless we have the flexibility to play kids. We’ve got more than enough games.
