The bits I picked out of this are that Steve is looking to ‘professionalise’ Sutton United and we will see a ‘New Sutton’ next season.
I think this is relatively revealing - it infers what I and a number of others believe - that we came into the League still with very much a non league mentality and whilst that was endearing it was not the basis for a long term stay in the full professional ranks. If we seek to recover that status then different attitudes and approaches are needed throughout the setup. Some of this will be uncomfortable and unfamiliar to those of us who have followed the club for many years

Where will Steve be looking to change things? (I’m not saying giving a successful manager time is ‘non league’ but I know there are some who believe that is the case).

Yes indeed - all the above. Analysis and data are now key to a successful team in a professional league as an example. Bringing staff and players in who might not fit ‘the Sutton mould’ but who will be more interested in results above performance. I actually think the appointment of steve is the first step in this direction but even then we heard lots about keeping Jason on etc etc
Above all I think the biggest task is that we somehow need to generate more revenue. As crowd stats show we were not the worst supported team in terms of home attendances last year but of those below us at least a couple have wealthy benefactors. We need to increase crowds size somehow, drive up other revenue and cut costs all whilst delivering quality match day experience. Not saying I have any of the answers here but we will not see average attendances 3,000 + next year so this will be a challenging time. Maybe we need to adjust our expectation to be that we need to stabilise in the short-mid term to avoid sliding down another division before mounting any sort of serious challenge to get back in the league

Again to be clear I’m not saying that we have not done some of the things on the list - I’m just saying we need to increase our focus- obviously the manager of the club feels this to some degree as well else I presume he would not have mentioned it

Maybe we need to adjust our expectation to be that we need to stabilise in the short-mid term to avoid sliding down another division before mounting any sort of serious challenge to get back in the league I asked the question because I genuinely thought we were extremely well run club and in fact known for it in non league circles prior to promotion. The club then seemed to respond to everything pretty well as quickly as they could as a league club. Clearly there was A LOT to do and an order of prioritisation. I think saying a need to make us more professional to be honest is just words with no real meaning unless there are specifics. Yes, Steve has mentioned a couple of times being more professional. Maybe he has specifics in mind, maybe that is just him saying something to hang onto to say he’s here to change us for the better. The interest for me is how? Yeah we’ll make it more professional is easy to say but I’d certainly need to hear what is happening to understand. If he has things in mind then it would be good to hear them and maybe we will in due course. On this below not sure what your expectations are? I mean if this stuff was easy then everyone would be doing it. Our crowds in the last 5 seasons (and more) in percentage terms must be vastly up, I was impressed with them and how they hung on during the relegation season. And certainly the matchday and ground has changed to try and make the best of resources and attract more spend. That doesn’t happen overnight and usually requires investment which presumably we have needed to direct to onfield budget as well. ‘We need to increase crowds size somehow, drive up other revenue and cut costs all whilst delivering quality match day experience.’

The proof will be putting out a winning team from start Crowds follow successful teams. Be good to improve the spectator experience by providing better facilities that though is down to the board not the team manager

I took that as Steve meaning that now we are back in non-league, we must still try to professionalise as many areas as we can. In implication that he would like to try and keep our application the same as it was in the league, as much as possible...
But maybe I am wrong...

TBH, as a league club for the past 3 seasons the club should already be professional in all respects.
At the end of the day, the club needs investment to be able to compete with the big boys in the National if it hopes to ever be a league club again.
I believe Steve is a good manager, but you cannot make a silk purse from a sow's ear. I would like to hear an honest view from the board as to what mistakes they felt they made, and how its going to be better next time around?
Since relegation nothing has come out from the board about their plans for the club going forward.

Since relegation nothing has come out from the board about their plans for the club going forward. That's not quite true though. We already know that the club have no plans to go back to 3G and intend to push for promotion again, or have I misheard this?

That's correct Kevin, that was announced.
OS is obsessed. In fact I am surprised he is still going on about it as I was under the impression he had all the answers anyway.

You are right about that, and I think that the park side will get done at some point.⚽️⚽️⚽️

I hope the park side will be done as soon as funds permit.
