We’ve just received £650k parachute payment from the Football league so it’s hardly a national league budget Note that Sutton's time in the football league put them into the red, and that's what parachute payments are generally for. And we have ground improvements and pitch refurbishment to pay for.

Exactly. Our playing budget will be based on projected income and not money that's needed for other purposes. Parachute payments are intended to support clubs to maintain financial stability, not to get them promoted again. We also have to cover much reduced gate receipts alongside no reduction in travel costs, something we haven't really had to deal with before as all of our previous relegations have been into regional leagues.

To amberpatriach How dare you call my friend an arsehole Then to suggest he wants to hold the club back in National League is even bigger slur. When the club needed a professional to deal with many of the efl compliance regulations on our promotion he stepped up. Saving the club needing to employ an expert. On match days he volunteers to carry out a variety of duties to allow the games to go ahead again saving the club money. I do not know who you are but were you part of the small team of volunteers with me that spent the weeks before helping to get the ground ready for the first home match against Oldham? or like me and my other family members volunteer on match days saving the club many hundreds of pounds on paid stewards. I concede my friend's attempts at humour sometimes fall short but that does not need someone like you amberpatriach to throw insults. What do you do to help the club?

Can someone remind me. Will we still be subject to the transfer windows or can sign/release players up to the transfer deadline?

Actually there should be quite a reduction in travel costs with 11 northern sides and 13 southern sides in the league. It's certainly going to help the supporter. Following the team in the EFL was a tad costly.

I fully appreciate that my request may well fall short of my expectations because that is the way of the world these days but I would just love it if we could all on this forum at least just get behind the team , management , sponsors and the many behind the scenes people who all want just one thing …… a successful season to come with hopefully a promotion at the end of it . Surely we all joined this forum because we support and indeed love our club and yes last season was very hard and yes we are all experts with hindsight at the root causes of our relegation . But , please let us all try to pull together now and applaud and support all of the paid and unpaid work that is being done in preparation for next season . This is our club and we should all be standing United .

One consequence for this season should be a reduction in the need for overnight stays. They’re not cheap.
