Our second friendly of the pre-season schedule following on from Tuesdays fine performance and win. Won’t be heading to Farnborough this afternoon but I’m sure they’ll be a few U’s fans going.

We seem very flat and very much out played by Farnborough, I try not to take pre season games to heart, but worrying shades of last seasons flat pre season... 🥴. Think it may be another slow start.

Thought we would lose this one, a very different team to Tuesday and lots of changes in the match, so you can’t read too much in to this, it’s just about fitness at the moment.⚽️⚽️⚽️

Looks like we shaped up with a 5-3-2 formation today - different from Tuesday night where we played 4-4-2 in both halves.
Disappointing to lose any game but hopefully Steve learnt some things this afternoon.

I write this from a position of not having attended this game , just to make it clear . I would just love it if SUFC were to win every match they ever played but as we all know this is never possible for any team let alone ours ! So , with this in mind I am happy for pre season matches to be lost because it will highlight to SM and the management team where changes and formations need to be tweaked for the real thing . Better to lose friendlies than the real thing I say .

There were a number of youngsters playing today. I wouldn’t worry about the performance at the moment. We will have a better idea on our capabilities in the last two preseason fixtures.

I wish to thank Mr Morrison for providing me with a team sheet as he promised at the q&a. Tonbridge provided team sheets in their clubhouse . As Mr Morrison said we made a mid table con.south side look ordinary on Tuesday. Today a better organised and experienced team made our players look very disjointed and largely
off the pace . Lots of room for improvement.
