That is great news, having the training ground back in the borough means the players don’t have to travel as far, and also close to the ground. Well done all involved .⚽️⚽️⚽️

The leisure centre is open to the public at all times as far as I'm aware. Will the players have to share the gym with Joe Bloggs and his mate from down the road ?

St. Helier/Rosehill area. Horrible, hardly inspiring surroundings.

I think terrier is perfectly entitled to offer his/her opinion about the area where the training ground is. This is a forum...a place where people offer their views and they are open to discussion.
If you don't agree then put forward your view that the Rosehill/St Helier area is in fact a beautiful part of Surrey rather than telling them in effect to shove their opinions.

Personally, I think much of Sutton has gone downhill over the years. Now of course there is a plethora of newly built flats or should that be ahem, apartments. Like most high streets, Sutton's looks shabby and depressed.
As for training at St Helier. What's the problem? It's not like the players etc are actually going to live there. It's a place of work.
The club lost Harlington which looked very decent for a L2 club, certainly better than Preston's. Sutton is back in non league and whilst still full time, have to cut their cloth accordingly. David Weir is only ten minutes drive back to the club too, so, perhaps catering etc can be done there rather than on site as it was at Harlington.

No surprise who the three posters were that disliked my post. It so happens my in-laws lived in Rosehill; if they were alive today I’m certain they’d agree with my opinion on the area. As far as SU is concerned their place of work for the players and management is now there, it’s where they’ll spend most of their time. Does anyone seriously think the David Weir site “sells” Sutton United?

Does anyone seriously think the David Weir site “sells” Sutton United? the thread was about the training facilities, not the area. Definitely a discussion to be had about the suitability of using a public leisure centre, but nobody asked, or mentioned Rose Hill. As someone who lives there, I thought your need to slag off the area for no reason was unnecessarily rude

As someone who has lived near the St Helier estate, and went to primary school within the St Helier Estate, I can assure you that the entire area is miles better than it was in the 80s/90s. Less crime, fewer gangs and a larger than average increase in house prices.

My concern is what do we do when the pitch is unusable?
Not sure there is any 3G surface so will have to go elsewhere. We will need to prep for some games on 3G.
Will it be Chipstead?
