Just one embarrassment after another. Why they’ve been allowed to continue this weeks posts about Altrincham I don’t know. It reflects unbelievably poorly back on the club, the town and the supporters. Change in approach massively needed, they’ve let us down.

Hear Hear! To suggest our supporters don't know where Altringham is located given the decades we have encountered them as an opponent is not only insulting to them but many home fans as well. I presume the media are youngsters who did not study the geography of their own country at primary school.

Point of order, this is the 3rd season in my 31 seasons following the club that we’ve been in the same division as Alty. We haven’t played them at GGL in front of supporters in 25 years. So hardly ‘decades’ of playing them. Saying that, these posts are beyond embarrassing now. It’s not as though Sutton is a place of historic prominence

Point is, it's sad that nowadays young peoples geographical knowledge is dreadful

Might be a better idea from the marketing team to establish in Sutton High street how many know about our club?

I have to agree that this line is embarrassing to the club and insulting to Altrincham. We have a reputation for friendliness and respect for opponents, which we'll quickly lose if this type of thing is repeated.

Agreed, terrible look and complete lack of class. Seems clicks, views and interactions the target, even if negative. Surely we can post stuff that lead to positive interactions?? Is it that difficult??

Is it that difficult?? Sorry to say but yes it is. This is why many platforms are cesspits of hate. I'm not understanding the purpose of it (especially as we are playing at home). As already said would be interesting to stop randoms and ask about Sutton.

Making us look like idiots and saying ‘but look at the interactions ‘ is ludicrous, keep doing that and where do you end up?

Where can i find this preview ? Just check any of the club's social media feeds. I agree that this stuff about Altrincham is embarrassing. Social media 'reach' is not more important than showing a bit of respect to other clubs. Alty might just have been given an added incentive to teach us a lesson tomorrow.

But I know if I went down the route of slagging the club, board, staff & players off my figures for listening and engagement would increase by at least x5. I wouldn't enjoy it though. (Edit to add: when re-reading I'm not sure I was clear I meant a theme of slagging off in general not a specific point or saying any person is doing it)

One thing we should never lose sight of is having respect for the opponents, regardless of who they are.
Our social media team over the course of 5 different posts (not just a one off) showed a total lack of respect, and lack of class to our opponents.
They've also made the potential stewarding of the game tomorrow harder.

Have seen this on Twitter. Seems to have been used as a week's countdown to tomorrow.
Didn't understand what it was about at first or more accurately, what the point was.
We're a club that had 3 years in the EFL and got relegated. This line of match promotion makes us out to be big time Charlies.
The author perhaps should do a bit of research first. Then he may realise Alty have a rich past and was one of the leading lights in the early days of the National League then known as the Alliance Premier.
Like Sutton they too knocked a top flight club out of the FA Cup, Birmingham City; away from home too.
They were certainly a bigger club than Sutton back then.
As others have said, this sort of thing is highly disrespectful and not how SUFC do things or used to not, anyway.
Someone with influence needs to have a quiet word.
