Its a total **** show on and off the pitch. Nearly two years of substandard effort, ability and recruitment.
If that social team don't drop that cringy "jOurNey bAcK tO THe eFl" I give up.
It should have been at least 5-0 tonight by the way.

I wasn't impressed with French at Tamworth as a defender and i have seen nothing in subsequent games to suggest he should always play or be captain. Davies is too weak up front.Rarely wins a header and is not the answer to our lack of goals. The spine of the team is non existent!
We should have scored with the several chances we made but no one can convert.

None of the current squad are anywhere near the level of those guys

OS, did warn of this scenario in the close season, signing young players is a huge risk when you remove or do not replace any of your experienced players. I think I said it was actually suicidal for a club to be suggesting an immediate return to the EFL with a squad like this, as you are just as likely to get relegated.
We have not only lost experience on the pitch, but we have lost the likes of Dundo off it, a crazy decision in my book.
Having said that its not the fault of the players they are a talented bunch, fans and management should be careful not to undermine their confidence, because they are very young and developing, and getting battered 3-0 / 3-0 etc can effect them, they need support from all.
The shape off the ball tonight was horrendous, no calming controlling or organizational influence out there. There was no composure with the final ball, and they lacked strength, against seasoned opposition the likes of which they will face week in week out in this league:
As Alan Hansen said you don't win anything with kids, and you can see why.

I seem to recall he wasn’t quite right about that!

I've not witnessed such a negative, aggressive and spiteful atmosphere at the end of a Sutton match in a very, very long time.
A few people should be ashamed of themselves tonight. Yes we were awful but some of the shouting took on quite vile and personal tones.
No human should be subjected to that just by doing a crap job.

Think I said in an earlier post that we have assembled a squad of players largely untried and unproven at this level. The same could be said of the manager. All of this looks like it’s coming home to roost a bit. Personally I think we need to completely adjust our sights even if only temporarily to a place where we are battling every game over the next period as a relegation battle and forget about this mounting a challenge for promotion thing. Early days still of course but after this many games the table does not lie

I wasn't at this game, but this season is starting to have uncanny echoes of the last one.
First three games: 7 goals scored, one conceded Last three games: 1 goal scored, 8 conceded

We need an imposing striker and defender to control things.
I get that Steve wants to keep the ball moving but some of these quick free kicks get played around the back with no advantage gained.

On the plus side i thought Jackson & Coley had really good games but of course there was no one available to finish off the chances they made.

I As Alan Hansen said you don't win anything with kids, and you can see why. I was rather dismissive of your comments earlier in the season but must hold my hands up and say I think you might well be right, albeit still early days. There are parallels with some of the EFT matches we had when our PL U21 opponents played some nice, neat football (which TBH I prefer to watch cf Matt's more long-ball physical approach) but which failed to produce results against older, stronger and more experienced players. It's good to see Steve taking it on the chin and accepting responsibility in his last couple of interviews, rather than reeling off excuses. Whether he can put matters right remains to be seen.

Surely the guy who scored Dagenham's opening goal received the ball in an offside position!

Surely the guy who scored Dagenham's opening goal received the ball in an offside position! Certainly a good shout. I wasn't there last night but in some ways, watching the highlights, it looked like a more worrying performance than Saturday with our defence shredded to pieces umpteen times by a team that previously only won once.

Our Mixlr commentary position was right in line for the first goal and I was so convinced the flag was going to go up that I wasn't really worrying about what would happen afterwards (what did we say at the weekend about playing to the whistle?). Having said that, looking at the highlights, if we were unlucky on that one it looks as though we were equally lucky with their disallowed goal in the second half.
