Well that was lovely wasn't it? A gorgeous day on the Essex coast and I think, by far, our best result of the season. Southend were a much better side than Altrincham were and caused us trouble especially in the first half. But today showed the potential we have. Coley, as always, was superb but there other players who played really well, notably Okoli and Simper.
I have to be honest, out of all the new players I've seen so far, two of the ones I've been least impressed with have been Davies and Nadesan, but both of them proved me wrong in spades today and linking up for the 3rd goal.
Comedy moment of the match was seeing Coley, just subbed, getting an appropriate round of applause from the Sutton faithful and then having a slight look of confusion when our attention suddenly turned to the attack that led to the 3rd goal and a sudden change of expression when the ball hit the back of the net!
A great 3 points, and something to build on and a credit to all of the club, especially the supporters who on Tuesday decided to boo and get aggressive, and saw how good we can be when we actually get behind the team.

And then his little heel clap as he walked back to the dug out - brilliant stuff 😃

Did SM do anything to sure up our leaky left side? From what I've seen smd heard, neither left back he bought can defend and our opponents have been targeting that side.
Found it surprising how thing have gone since York. Both sides looked like top 6 sides as york have since shown.

To round off a good day (traffic excepted) I met a member of the 1965 European Cup Winners’ Cup winning team. Clue - he holds the record for the quickest five-goal burst in a top flight game.

Not the whole ground any more, but boardroom hospitality

Oh yes. I just about remember Brian Dear.
Anyway I wasn't at the game (I rarely get to away games nowadays) but pleased they managed to turn things around. Was it helpful having height at the back and up front? I think with a run Nadesan and Davies can work together. It looks like - apart from rotating for the number of games we have - Steve is still experimenting with his best team.

At times Southend put us under pressure and I thought generally both Harris and Okoli dealt with it well. Im not sure Harris is any taller but Okoli looks like he has a little bit more hight and considering he has only just arrived he did very well..

Just FYI you can log into National League TV and watch the full match replay. It is very odd knowing the result already.

Good job nobody heard the abuse from the back of the stand towards our boys when we went one down. And it wasn’t from the kids either. Frankly shouting out that our own team is a bunch of c@nts isn’t something I want to hear and I doubt our goalkeeper would have been that chuffed either to be called a useless c@nt by supposedly our own supporters. I’m sure you’ll all say that we’ve paid the money and can shout out what we want but it makes me sad.

Southend's right back scored again tonight. 7 goals in 9 matches for him. They lost though.
According to a Southend twitterer, the match was held up because of a drone. The operator was, allegedly, the driver of Southend's team coach. Will have to wait and see if confirmed but whoever it was, they was arrested.
