Ok Cheer up you miserable lot. Cant get too down as got a long season ahead. Remember, its only game I would be delighted with a draw, and that should be what we are really going for to steady the ship. (Worryingly I am not sure draws fit into Steve's playing style) I am goin to predict with my Heart, 2-2.

It’s hard to be positive about a result here but we could certainly do with a performance. Not around until Yeovil at home so hope by that point a spring back in the step. We’re certainly putting eggs in the young footballer basket with a couple more recent loans. It’s a big challenge for them and the management- let’s see them rise to that challenge.

I always hope for a win but after the last few days we , the team and our management have had I’m guessing we would all be very happy with a point to steady the ship . With that in mind I’m going for 0-0 ,1-1 ,2-2 or even 3-3 . Anyways , fingers crossed we can get a good result and hopefully everybody cheering on the lads no matter what at the end .

Good afternoon all. We're looking forward to your visit to the Hall on Saturday, in what promises to be an open, attacking game. We have been slow to get going this season thanks to our previous owner, but now the Rodent extermination squad have rid us of him, its time to get back to football only. It looks like there will be a gate of around 6k for the game so it should lead to a lively, noisy crowd. No doubt 'Super' Steve Arnold will be given a warm welcome as he was much loved by the Blues faithful, this obviously requires him to start though. Safe journey to those of you attending.

Looking forward to another home game for us on the back of an excellent performance against Eastleigh.
Closest station to the ground is prittlewell if coming from Liverpool Street. The railway pub outside of the station usually let's well behaved away fans in. Its about 5 mins from the ground.
Alternatively the west road tap, plough or cricketers are about 10 to 15 mins away.
If you coming from fenchurch Street then you can either get off at wescliff on Sea and walk up hamlet Court Road and has several pubs and bars. It's about 20 mins from roots Hall.
If you get off at Southend Central or Southend victoria then you can have good and drink in the high street. It's about 20 mins walk to the ground from there.
The food at roots Hall is poor. There is a chippy on the corner of Victoria avenue called the fish House.
Looks like there will be around 200 sutton fans at roots Hall. The away end is good for noise but facilities are poor. We will regenerate the stadium in the coming few seasons.
If you are coming by car there is plenty of street parking but you would be best to arrive before 1.30 to get a spot.
Good luck for the season after Saturday

Just in case anyone hasn't picked up on this, Fenchurch Street is closed for engineering all weekend and so all trains to Southend this Saturday depart from Liverpool Street.

The Liverpool Street line is the better one for Roots Hall anyway, so I'd recommend everyone take that line even if C2C was open too Prittlewell station, on the Liverpool Street line, is nearest to Roots Hall.
Looking forward to a good game - I don't think I've seen Sutton play before so another new club to tick off.
If you fancy some pre-match banter, feel free to join the conversation on ShrimperZone.com - its quite a busy and lively forum!
Cheers - safe journey to Essex one and all.

The Yoof were in good voice getting off the train at Southend Victoria - let’s hope they keep it up and give the lads a boost

Looks like you will have decent numbers at the game, our ticket counter is showing 257 away seats gone so far.

This shows an astonishing lack of faith but, following the match on flashscore, I just misread us going up 2-1 as Southend going up 2-1.
Come on boys, take the criticism out of us!
