"We will be welcoming co-owner Paul Brunson to the home game against Ebbsfleet with some of his celebrity friends and producers from his shows."
Oh wow. I can't wait.

I'm not much interested in the razzmatazz around this game. I'm more interested in getting three points!
Ebbsfleet are propping up the table, but got their first win of the season last weekend after changing their manager. We know from our game against Boston a fortnight ago that no team in this league is to be underestimated.
Ebbsfleet have some ex-Sutton players in their squad: Louis John, Will Randall and Kwame Thomas.

Indeed, the games we have had against struggling sides have turned out to be toughest, as they are going to play like a cup final. I will predict a 1-1.

I expect Ebbsfleet will play with an abundance of caution so i go for 1-0 to Sutton United.

I too could not care less about the d list celebrity list that will be attending the game with doubtless minimal knowledge of football at this level and probably even less awareness of Sutton Utd as as a football club or our community at large. I sincerely hope Mr Brunson is here for the long haul and that we soon see some benefit of the Board level changes and other off the pitch evolutions - I couldn’t personally identify much positive as yet but of course I am very removed from these machinations and simply a 55 year supporter of the club.
I know I sound like a dinosaur and his intentions are probably great but just how emotionally invested can anyone be when their relationship with us as a club started by picking our name out of a hat on a two bit tv show? Obviously some have the hope that this all turns out a bit Wrexhamish but I’m more reminded of Tamplin at Billericay, Dipre at Carshalton with a flavour of Stanford landing in his helicopter at Lords.
Again, those circumstances were different and I’m not likening anyone to those specific individuals but all still feels very un-Sutton United to me but hey ho.
All I want is three points today and for the crowd to support our team like we know we can.

I agree the only thing that matters today is getting 3 points. Off field distractions never work well .

I can't believe I'm defending Dipre but give him his due, despite all the upheaval he caused initially after (15? 20?) years he is still there.

Anyway on to the match. Let's hope something akin to last week at Southend which I didn't watch. I couldn't even get mixlr to work on my phone.
3 returning players, one of whom is a legend here as far as I'm concerned. I've got his shirt from the anniversary game although he was an unused substitute.

Won 3-2 after leading two nil. They got it back to 2-2 but we got the winner.
A few things to work on but a win is a win.

Great win so congratulations to the team and manager. Lots to build on and be optimistic about for the league ahead....
We're all in it for the football so the sooner the club drops all this "celebrity" drivel the better. Does anyone give a flying **** about some minor z list TV celeb? The club is bigger and better than this and the media team needs to understand that it's getting up our noses and reflects badly on the guy. It should always be about the club, community and supporters not about individuals, even less "co-owners". They are not the protagonists.

Think some of you need to look at the bigger picture. The fact Paul has brought into the club and has put his money where his mouth is we should embrace. It is clear he is a Sutton fan now and wants the club to be successful.
Maybe C,D or even Z list celebs but the fact is they are all in the public eye and have had a great day at Sutton and will be tweeting, tick tocking or whatever social media they use. If this entices more people down to the lane then that is a positive. Let's remember it wasnt that long ago we were getting crowds of 300 and would be lucky to take 30 fans to away games.
So whilst some of you may not care let's embrace those that do and if a lil kid sees one of his tick tock stars at our ground wearing one of our scarfs that is a win in my book.

Rather a scrappy affair this afternoon, rescued by some well executed goals. The game was punctuated by numerous free kicks and I thought the visitors physical style somewhat knocked us out of our stride.
We were looking comfortable at 2-0 before Ebbsfleet rallied and, when they grabbed the equaliser I feared the worst. Credit to the team for drawing second wind and going on to earn the three points. It's pretty clear now that the team has goals in it but, at the same time, looks vulnerable to concede.
As Steve initimated, we were not at our best today, but I guess results and performances tend to even themselves out over the course of a season.
