well done today, good luck in the next round. thought you were a bit lucky to win in the end but silly goals to concede from us. i thought a draw would of been fair, but well done to you. attendance was 474 by the way. good luck whoever you draw next. Thank you warefan... your lot seemed a really nice bunch. I agree actually- a draw would have been fair. Still, you didn't want to come all the way to Sutton on a Tuesday night, did you? Good luck for the rest of your season.

very true, as we set out this season with the main task of promotion, we didnt really want any cup run. but then again when it comes around you cant really turn down some money and bigger crowds in this competition. i dont think you would of seen many of us there on tuesday if it went to a replay, what was your journey to ours like traffic and time wise?
btw the person whose wallet is missing we will be on the lookout, and i think most people that were there would definatly hand it in. hope you find it.

Really didn't think we were going to pull that off. Their goal was a blinder, but as OS said we just kept going right to the end. Thought Ware did a good job up to the goals to keep us at bay. We edged it on possession but even so I would have been more than happy with a draw. I think Ware came unstuck by trying to hold onto a 1-0 for most of the second half.
Good luck to them in the league.

Just want to add my congratulations. I don't think we played anything like our best or even normal game but you're entitled to say that was down to you restricting us. Thought you bullied us (in a footballing sense) in midfield and we never really got going.
Hope you get a good draw in the next round and good luck.

Cheers blueboy2 and Warefan.
IMHO most of your fans seemed a nice lot but there was a few idiots who I would imagine aren't regulars. Unfortunately this meant we weren't willing to hang around for drink after.
We did buy two sheep from your gents, and stuck them on the back of the net, which upset the lino in the second half.
In regards to the match I fealt if we kept going we would snatch a draw to get a winner was unbelievable and possibly a bit harsh on Ware but it is a 90 minute game and we kept pushing until the end.
Oh and the Ware keeper is a top lad and wished us well in the next round.

Taz: thanks once again for the live updates. I thought at first we'd scored an o.g. "Ware 1 Sutton 0 scorer Dunno" !

We could try to portray this as a professional job, slowly wearing the opposition down over 80 minutes then hitting them with two knockout blows at the end. But it really wasn't like that.
After Ware took an early lead with a well-struck goal we laboured to break them down. We did have a good spell of pressure around the half-hour mark but the few shots we did get on target were either cleared by the last defender or capably dealt with by their keeper.
Ware might have extended their lead from a couple of chances in the second half, but the game did seem to be drifting towards one of those frustrating 1- 0 defeats in which we never quite get the breaks. Then at last McCallum found enough space on the left to put in a really good cross which West latched onto for the equaliser. A few minutes later and sub Billy Dunn reached a flick-on to head the winner.
Credit to a young Ware side who played some decent passing football and can count themselves a litlte unlucky to have lost today.

Standing both halves on the flanks the one thing that stood out was Gavin really only once got beyond their right back and that resulted in the goal. It looked so easy just to slip Gavin in beyond the last defender all afternoon but we managed to cock it up time after time, with the wrong ball and 4 times letting the ball run out of play.
Billy is a predictor and has a old head on young shoulders he knows just where to be, he is set for higher things!

I've just got back from an eventful day which started at 11am! I thought Sutton were very dominant for most parts of the game and the attack Ware had for their goal was quality and the finish topped it off, but Sutton just kept going right till the end and got what we deserved although a tad unlucky to Ware as their back 4 was solid all game especially their number 4 who could of arguably been sent off in the first half, Steve West had his best game i thought but there was no one really following up on his flickons, McCallum once again worked his socks off even after getting knocked around a bit! Heeroo & Hann didn't have the best of games and i didn't think Heeroo was quite at home in the RB position, must admit i loved Doswell's celebration after the game and the journey home!

I don't know about Hann but Heeroo was my man of the match!

I agree, good pictures. Any objection to me using one of them for our members' newsletter? I'm thinking of IMG_0046 or 51 or 61. Some nice shots of our keeper in action but unfortunately always with his back to the camera.
