the one in which the ref gave the free-kick for i felt their number 4 wolf? should of been sent off for, just aswell he didn't for Ware because he was quality for them and killed off most of Sutton's attacks

Nice drop of 'bitter' in the clubhouse, too. I'm sure the Club would like you to drink there.

Excellent day! From the pre match pubbing to the banter on the train home. NtG being briefly silenced by my little bro' was classic! It's been a while since i've been to a pub where all four beers on were top notch and the greeting from the regulars was unanimously pleasant. Even the landlord who was having to put up with his beloved Carlisle getting a battering from MK Dons was top. Granted i underestimated the journey time from the ground on the way back but it was only a little hill really and nobody missed any of England's goals. Again, short of a couple of snide comments the Ware contingent in the ground were pleasant, the atmosphere was really nice with the ice cream van, the sun, the inflatable sheep and the FA Cup which i nearly dropped on the floor... Probably why you're not actually allowed to touch it.. The game was probably just the right result. In hindsight the opposition having a long time to sit on their lead helps you build up pressure and as long as you can actually score means the nerves and mistakes are more likely to come from them and not your own. Wouldn't fancy it too often though even the the bundle was top. Something that hasn't been mentioned much was the fact that Westy was immense. It's not often the goal you score is the least impressive aspect of your game but for Westy on Saturday it probably was. The skill for the turn and volley in the first half, the hold up play, the nod back for the deadly Dunn. All quality. Probably only Hann would be disappointed with his performance in what was an encouraging showing for most. McCallum making an impact from the wing again. Gavin Heero nailing a set piece for once and a solid defensive display. If only Dundas had scored his chance. It would have been perfect! £15,000 in prize money so far too! Bring on the Ducks

Westy was indeed immense - not only gave 110% for the entire game but using every ounce of experience, plus virtually managing the team from the pitch. I was a little doubtful about him keeping up that level for the full 90mins. But needless to say I was very wrong, and glad to be so!

ooh yeah. Bit more assistance in the noise making would have been nice. Now we've got a team worth shouting about let's get back to being the loud bastards we can be As a dour Scotsman once said, it's not a "midweek social" :D *ducks abuse*

think we did a job rather than played great but TBH a lot of this was down to their spoiling tactics ie fouls and time wasting must admit west played very well as did dundo when he came on grate to get a win lets keep it going

I overheard some Sutton fans think we play route one with West, have they got a case?

I heard some saying similar things on Saturday saying he was rubbish. Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, obviously they were not watching the game. Added to the fact that the majority of our play were built up on the wings and with the lion's share of possession doesn't happen with Route 1. Yes we did hoof the ball out of defence at times, but i'd argue against route one!!!

If I'm honest, I thought McAllum and West were a level above pretty much everything on the pitch saturday.
We might play up to Westy a bit, but FFS, he's a target man. That's what he's there to do. Be a focal point to play off. We do mix it up, but we're not a route one side by any stretch of the imagination.

Just what is probably a final word for Sal on the subject of her purse. I had a root round the waste bins outside the clubroom and tea bar last night in case it had been put or fallen in one of them. No luck I'm afraid.

Thanks very much blueboy. I don't think anyone's ever gone through bins for me before! If we ever play you again, you MUST identify yourself so I can buy your drinks all afternoon/evening (depending on kick-off time)!
Funnily enough, as I was reading through this thread I got a call from the regional manager of an organisation I worked for years ago....apparently someone HAS found my purse, and phoned every number in there. I just happened to have left my old ID card from that job in there...hmmm!
Got a phone number, but nobody's answering at the moment (I didn't catch the name, but it's presumably a Ware fan). Thanks to everyone who has helped.

Good news. If they are from Ware and you (or they) are not happy trusting the purse to the postal system they could always deliver it to Ware FC c/o me (Steve King) and someone can bring it to our away match on Saturday. I live reasonably close to Sutton and can then deliver it by hand. You can PM me on this or the Ware forum if you think this will be helpful.

A possible victory for hoarding junk in your wallet When i got violently mugged the other year the discarded wallet (minus the money and cards) got handed back into Maccy D's cos they found the three year old employee card in there!
