Amazed this hasn’t long since sold out. Taking a while to shift them. Hopefully we get there. I'm not surprised. Birmingham are a non-local club who've spent the last decade in Championship mid-table obscurity. They've won little of note in their long history and been overshadowed by their more illustrious neighbours. As such, they're rarely been on my radar except when Karen Brady was in charge and that's ages ago.

I expect the Birmingham end is, but a team that isn't really a PL standard team, not local and with no history with Sutton isn't a 5 hour queue sort of draw. Saying that probably AFC Wimbledon would have got the sell out quickly out of the teams we could have faced. For those recording the game at home, coverage starts at 1145 on the Sunday. Still probably the 3rd/4th biggest club we have ever faced in a competitive fixture? They are really a top half champ side at least right now in terms of squad strength and spent many millions in the summer. Most of which will go over the head of the casual supporter whose "other teams" are Man City, United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal etc. They'd know them as poor relations of Villa, Wolves, etc. Your logical analysis, which is spot on, will be lost on a lot of people. They won't have a clue that our opponents got the to the FA Cup final twice, won the League Cup twice, the EFL Trophy twice, and got to 2 UEFA finals, beating teams like Inter Milan on the way. Which gets me onto the trival question of the day : How many League cup winners have we played in a competitive game (not including U21 sides)?

From a supporter's perspective, football is about emotions, not logic

Birmingham will make it 7, the others being Arsenal, Norwich, Swindon Town, Middlesbrough*, Oxford United and Leeds United *won after playing Sutton

Gave it our best shot and had one or two quite good chances, but that’s football. Kept our shape well and limited them too very View chances, and also the lads should learn from this experience going forward.⚽️⚽️⚽️

For the third week running the players played as well as they could. It was a shame the head coach could not devise a way where we threw caution to the wind and attacked certainly in the last 20mins
