This side is nowhere near good enough to ‘have a go’ and try and go toe to toe with Birmingham. I think you have to remember this is a big step up from any side we faced in our Dos era cup run. Leeds rested a lot of players for their game. Whenever we tried to pass it about after we played into midfield we just didn’t have the space or ability to be able to keep it. Davies played too deep, particularly first half, when we did win it doing anything it was therefore impossible to get out of our half with a hope of competing.
I felt the Gateshead game was a bit of a dress rehearsal for this one and it was the same plan. Obviously to an even larger extent in terms of not having the ball. Like Gateshead we again don’t do so badly on chances, creating 3 very good ones.
Well done to the players and management. It was a very professional and good performance and they should take great credit. Some of them would have learnt a lot today. And we’ve shown we can shut up shop and keep good teams quiet, now we need to tweak to a ‘normal’ type game where we have some forward play too. We look to be moving forward. Thought everyone did their bit today as a unit.

Birmingham should definitely have been given a penalty in the first half. The commentators both seemed astounded that both the ref and linesman had missed it.The foul was clearly well inside the box,a free kick was awarded just outside. Both Sutton shouts for a penalty were just embarrassing play acting. Personally,i'd rather watch a game of football than an exercise in damage limitation.

I’d say that the Leeds team was still stronger than this Birmingham side, Leeds rested a few but the players who came in were still quality.

What is the capacity of the ground? Against the attendance today of 4804.

Before the game I kept thinking about the Notts County game in 2008. And as it turned out, the result was the same.
With the way our defence has been this season, letting the 1 goal and limiting them to very few chances was a superb return. I'm not been too impressed with either Waller or French so far this season, but both had excellent games, and without question that was our best defensive performance of the season.
At the end of the day, as others have said, inlcuding Morison, we really had no chance of going toe to toe with a Birmingham squad full of quality, but obviously the homework had been done, and their top scorer was literally snuffed out of the game.
We did ourselves proud today, and with a bit of luck the result could have been different but you have to admire the resilience of our team today. They never gave up against, for many of them, the highest quality side they've ever played against.
The squad should hold their heads up high and take this as the moment which should fill them with confidence. Many of the younger players would have learned loads in the 90mins today, and will have improved as players, both technically but more importantly mentally.
This could be the turning point of our season where we start getting more consistency in our game.
Well done to all, a really good shift.
P.S. We would have had an away trip to Blackpool in the 2nd round. Instead we'll be at home to their neighbours AFC Fylde.

I missed the 50/50 announcement yesterday. I’m sure it’s been claimed but wanted to double check. Any ideas?

Worthy of note that I was not aware of any incidents yesterday so hats off to the club for dealing so well with the media and the event in general yesterday.
Cannot blame the stewards for allowing BC supporters to stand against the railing behind the goal. Mob rule wins.

All of whom were complimentary of the side and the club. Winning obviously helped but the impression I got was of a decent bunch of supporters.

That’s exactly my point. The rule is to keep a sufficiently wide egress route but the more people behind the goal (and so the need even greater) the less likely it is to be maintained.

What is the capacity of the ground? Against the attendance today of 4804. The capacity that had been agreed for yesterday's match was 5,001 ( As agreed with the Council Safety Team ). This figure "could" change in the future, but is probably the maximum that could be allowed at this time
